Chapter Eleven: SURPRISED

Robert Michael the barrister, stood, fixing his eyes on Sarah.
"I want to believe that all is well, barrister?"Regina asked.
"Kindly sit down,"Esther, the elder sister of Jonathan, said to him. He did. He took a deep breath, raised his head up, and cracked his voice, as he was now ready to say the reason for his coming.
"Greetings everyone, nice to be here. However, if you observed me, you would notice that I might not actually be in a good mood at the moment. But I would not allow that to disrupt my mission here"Michael said.
Everyone nodded their heads, paying strict attention to hear what he was trying to emphasize. But as for Sarah, she wastes a move. She is strategic, playing her cards very well.
"Well, I was just having a good time today in my office, when I received an unofficial phone call from a colleague of mine, who informed me that there would be a court case between the business empire, and some workers of the same empire".
Everyone at this point was seen nodding their head, anticipating his words.
"I thought it was a joke at first, not believing whatever he was saying to me. This is because I am already aware of the last court verdict, based on their judgement on the case between you people and Kenny's associate.
Meanwhile, here is a letter given to me today by the court, inviting the current president of the empire to a court session,"Michael said, while handing over to Jonathan the letter. Jonathan received it, and hurriedly opened it. The look on his face says it all. He was surprised to read the word of the letter. Everything for him changed. It wasn't even what he was expecting, or what the average member of his family could be thinking.
"I believe it's well over there?"Regina asked Jonathan, after seeing the looks and mood on his face.
‘’Hmm. If we lose this case, I don’t think our generation would ever be happy having us as patriarchs. Lo, I think from the picture of things I am seeing, we would definitely lose the case’’Jonathan responded.
‘’Let me have a look at the invitation,’’Regina demanded.
The document was immediately handed over to her, by Jonathan.
‘’Oh damn!’’Regina gasped, fixing her eyes on Sarah.
‘’I am sorry dear, but you’ve just escalated this case to something else’’Regina informed her.
Barrister Robert Michael was still in the parlor sitting. But this time, he brought down his head and looked at the floor, as if he was mourning.
‘’So, what are we going to do about this now?’’Regina asked.
‘’There is absolutely nothing to be done. Although, we must bring out the arrested officials immediately, from the police custody’’Michael replied.
‘’Ofcourse, they would be brought out immediately’’Regina agreed, shaking her head.
‘’I think it’s best for us to just order Sarah to do the needful, since she was the one who got them arrested’’Michael said.
‘’What!. I can do that myself. Wait, I will call the police department as soon as possible’’Said Regina.
‘’No, that’s not gonna work, ma. She just leveled a strong case against them. Not even the president of our country could bring them out at this time. They will keep spending time in prison, under police custody, until the day of their court case’’Michael revealed.
‘’What!. This is serious’’Regina was shocked.
‘’Yes. Sarah’s case against them is not a child’s play. She has accused them of stealing several money belonging to the empire, which I can tell you, amounts to billions of dollars, according to her. Also, she has also accused them of having deep knowledge about the sudden death of the late Andrew and his wife’’
‘’What!. Regina bursted, while standing up. Everyother family member who was there in the parlor stood up upon hearing Michael’s words.
‘’This is unbelievable’’Cynthia, one of Jonathan’s juniors, was shocked.
A wave of silence was suddenly observed in the parlor.
‘’Other hand, the accused individuals are also filing a case against all that they were accused of. However, my fear here is that if the court eventually discovers that Sarah, in alliance with the empire, was only defaming their characters, things would not definitely go well with both she and the company. This is because it is currently being viewed that her move is a strategic attempt for the empire not to be given to Kenny and his associate’’Michael said.
But this time, nobody said anything to him,as all eyes were just fixed on Sarah.
‘’However, I would advise that these charges against them should be dropped as soon as possible, because I don’t see us winning this at all’’Michael said.
Everyone still kept silent, except Sarah.
‘’No. I won’t drop the case, and I don’t want you either, to try to change my mind’’Sarah said.
‘’You have no knowledge of what you are doing, madam. Everything you have leveled against them, are all false, that’s why I am advising you as your legal personnel, to step down the case’’Michael said.
‘’You won’t be my legal personnel in this case’’Sarah replied to him.
Everyone was once again shocked.
‘’I will be a lawyer. No lawyer will stand for the company or me either, since I am also a legal woman’’She added.
Barrister Michael, who was shocked to hear her saying this, stood up.
‘’Wow, you studied law?’’He asked.
‘’I am a lawyer’’Sarah replied.
‘’Wow!. You never told me this all this while’’Jonathan said.
‘’Don’t worry, I will handle the case myself, and I will win. Meanwhile, they will keep spending their time in jail, until I decide their fate’’Sarah said.
Everyone looked at her, with fear and surprise. Regina seems to be happy. But then, didn’t reveal her happy mood facially.
