Angelique's POV:
Four years later
"Let's go, guys, we have a plane to catch in two hours!" I called as I did my last check to ensure we didn't forget anything.
Today we're returning to Vancouver, Canada, I was needed there, someone needed my help immediately.
Over the last four years after I settled in England, I got a job at a hospital and it didn't take long for my reputation to build. I was a famous doctor and helped a lot of high society people, I didn't want anyone to find out my true identity so I came up with a name to go by Madam Ruth.
I raised all three of my kids on my own, yes it was hard but I made it and they grew up to be strong, courageous, and intelligent, Theodore especially was very smart with technology.
They all came down the stairs with their individual backpacks, Theodore my son, Kinsley the first girl, and Paisley the last born.
"Are you ready to go?" I asked them.
I put up the house for sale with the help of my real estate agent who helped me get this house in the first place.
They nodded.
I hired a taxi to carry us to the airport, our flight to Vancouver International airport was at 10 am.
The house was just how I first got it, the real estate agent already got clients who are interested in seeing the place, and it also has an outdoor pool.
"Mom, do you have everything?" Theodore asked me, he has his tablet in his hand. He has our flight information on it and I printed our tickets a month ago.
"Yes, let's go."
They all walked outside to the taxi and got into the backseat while the driver helped me with the luggage.
"Thanks."
"Are you moving? I saw the to be sold sign."
"Yes", I nodded.
"Good luck."
I get into the passenger side while the kids sat at the back on their tablets.
We arrived at the airport forty minutes later because of traffic, everyone is trying to go in the same direction, most to the airport.
"Bye, Mr. Driver", Paisley waved at the driver after I paid and collected the luggage.
"Hold hands, and hand my hand", I told them.
They held each other's hands and Paisley held my wrist as I enter the busy airport. We go straight to the desk to check in, luckily there wasn't anyone there yet for this flight.
I gave them everything, including our passports, the kids have Canadian passports since that was their birth country.
After they took my luggage we joined the line to go through security and have the kids sit down and wait until boarding time.
We had a good breakfast, they'll be good until we're up in the air.
"Mommy, did you get a new job in Canada? I love it here", Theodore said.
"Yes I did, you're gonna love it there. I was born in Canada and grew up there", I answered.
After getting through security, I found empty chairs for us to sit down to wait. I open the email on my phone and read the email that was sent to me a few weeks back. A well-known CEO and father of my kids needed the best doctor there was, he only wanted the best for his sick child.
I can't reveal to him who I was, he would throw me out for sure and the kid might go untreated.
I'll pray for the best.
____
At the airport of Vancouver International airport, I got off the flight in disguise. My face was hidden behind sunglasses and a mask so that no one would recognize me.
It had been years, I wondered if Amiri was still looking for me.
Amiri Lee sounded like he meant it when he said that he would "pay me back" He was the most powerful man in this city if it were not for someone who needed my treatment urgently, I would never take the risk to be back to Vancouver.
Thinking of that, I unconsciously walked a bit faster, I needed to get to the hotel as soon as possible in case someone would recognize me.
My three babies were following me with efforts.
"Mommy!" One of the babies called out after me, "you're walking too fast. I'm hungry already, I want some cakes and cookies."
"Ssh..." I whipped around and hushed her.
I didn't want any unnecessary attention in the terminal.
Paisley was her youngest daughter and the little foodie of the family.
"Paisley, be good. Mommy will buy cakes for you later, okay?"
Paisley eyes lit up as she nodded enthusiastically, Kinsley looked quite the same as Paisley.
She sighed as she shook her little head in disapproval, "Paisley, you can't eat desserts all the time, they're unhealthy and you will be chubby."
Paisley pouted, "But you also ate cake and cookies."
"It was just one bite."
"But you still ate it..."
"Alright, girls," Theodore cut in as the big brother, "mommy said we should go. You two should stop fighting."
"Theo you're always so biased," Paisley stomped her little feet and walked away.
Theodore was clueless, "Biased? How am I biased?"
He turned to me without an incredulous look on his chubby face, "Mommy, do you think I'm biased?"
I smiled resignedly.
Before I could say anything to settle the little sibling friction, a soft exclamation caught my attention, making me turn around to look.
Paisley bumped into someone and she fell back on her butt.
The woman she bumped into was young, she was staring down at Paisley at the moment with a pinched look on her face, "What the hell! Watch when you walk, kiddo. Or your mom and dad have never taught you that?"
'This woman is so mean. Why does she also talk about dad? I don't even have one, Paisley pouted with a poor look.
"Paisley, get up," Kinsley hurried to her little sister and helped her up, "let's go."
"Hey," the woman called after the girls, "Don't you think you should apologize to me? Have you no manners?"
"I am sorry, Ma'am", Paisley looked up with her pure eyes and said sincerely.
"And that one beside you," the woman seemed like she wouldn't let them go easily, "she must also apologize to me."
Kinsley turned around with distaste on her little face, not saying a thing, this woman is really unreasonable; she bumped into Paisley but she asked us to apologize?!
"What's wrong?"
"What happened?"
Two voices sounded at the same time.
The first voice belonged to me the other, however...
I lifted her gaze to the familiar voice and looked away instantly... Holy sh*t!
It's him! Amiri Lee! How comes I just run into him the first day I come back from abroad?
"Amiri, these little brats are so mannerless. They wouldn't even apologize after bumping into me," the woman pouted as she grabbed his arm.
Amiri moved away from her arm and looked down at Kinsley and Paisley.
These little girls before him had cute faces and pure, bright green eyes, they looked quite familiar.
I took in a sharp breath as I looked away, praying that Amiri wouldn't recognize the children.
Kinsley and Paisley both have my eyes.
Theodore clearly noticed that something had gone wrong as his mommy's hand was tightening around him. Besides, that man over there looked so much like himself, he wanted to approach the man and get a better look, but I pulled him back instantly, covering his face with a mask.
If Amiri saw Theo's face, he would realize that the boy was actually his son and would take him away.
Theodore couldn't understand what was happening, but he stayed still as I wanted him to.
"They're your kids?" Amiri arched an eyebrow as he turned to me.
I was facing in another direction as I nodded nervously. I didn't make a response because I was too afraid that he would recognize my voice.
"It's still not too late to teach them manners because they're considerably young", he sounded both cold and aloof as he said that.
"It was not our fault! This lady bumped into Paisley and scolded us! Besides, Paisley has already apologized", Kinsley stared at Amiri without flinching.
The unyielding look on her little face reminded Amiri of someone, he cast his cold eyes on the other girl. These girls both looked like that woman, could their mother actually be...
This was his wild guess, but he couldn't help stepping forward. I was startled as I took one step back.
Gosh! What should I do? What if this jerk insists to see my face? I felt my heart thumping so fast that it was going to come out of my mouth.
Amiri Lee fixed those cold light brown eyes as if a wolf fixed its prey.
Holy crap! Oh, Jesus! I am doomed!
