Chapter 9I was sitting at the kitchen island on a stool, reading the lyrics of the song she sang the night before for the first time, for me, a gift. In our entire history she’d never managed to keep a new song a secret, she’d get too excited about it, or too nervous about performing it for the first time, but this one she had.
