Hades
I hold my mate up as she wobbles on her feet. “What happened? Who died?” She asks urgently. “Please, Hades. I can’t bear not knowing.”
I take a deep breath, the muscles in my jaw clenching. “There has been an accident. But that is all I know, Lycia. Azrael did not reveal any details. We must go to the castle and speak with the King to understand the full extent of what has happened.”
“Hades,” Lycia gulps with her eyes closed, emotion rushing through her.
I cannot begin to imagine how my mate is feeling right now. Lycia loves those children as if they were her own. To lose one’s child must be the worst imaginable pain. I do not have children, so I do not know how it would feel to lose one. Lycia does not have children of her own, but she feels as though she has lost two children.
