Today is going to be a long day. I won’t see Echo until we’re crowned King and Queen. I won’t because there are rituals I must go through before I can be reunited with my mate.
After our talk yesterday, I held Echo all night long while she slept. She awoke this morning with a smile on her face, and it was beautiful to see. My mother soon arrived and shooed me out of the room. There was much to be done, and I could not see my Queen before she walked down the aisle for her crowning.
I hate that I have to do so much without her. But there are traditions to be upheld. My mother and father weren’t crowned together because Dad had already been King for decades when he found Mom. But Echo and I will follow tradition as every King and Queen before my father and mother did.
