Parties. I seem to be at one every other week these days. This evening’s party is in celebration of my mother’s birthday. Everyone came from far and wide to be here. All of our family, including my father’s aunts, uncles, and their children. Most brought their mates and kids, and the whole thing is bedlam.
But while the whole room cheers and applauds the news we just received, my eyes haven’t left Grace. The anger rushing through her is palpable. I’m scared she’ll blow up and cause a scene. That can’t happen, though I shouldn’t care what happens to the fool who just publicly broke her heart.
I make my way over to Grace when I see the lightning cackling at her fingertips. She cannot lose it here!
