Layla opened the car door and got in, the evening wind tossing the loose strands at her temples. She turned, her eyes cold and fixed on Gavin. "Before Grandma Evelyn collapsed, you were glaring at me as if you hated me. Did you decide from the beginning that I'd told her about your amusement-park date with Sabrina just to ruin it?" Gavin pressed his lips together and avoided her gaze, visibly uneasy. "Layla, it isn't that I don't trust you. I know how deeply you love me.
