Chapter 99: Two Lions Grooming Each Other

903 Words

In the morning, the sunlight embraced the world. What a romantic scene. But then, Hannah asked Clyde in a slightly disdainful tone whether he was wearing perfume. Clyde closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and pinched Hannah's face. His voice carried a rare frustration. "Is the perfume more important than my wound?" His touch was gentle. It was more of a light caress than a pinch. Hannah wasn't frightened by it. She smiled and said, "It's different from your usual scent." She thought for a moment and then gave a brilliant description. "It's like... a male lion and a female lion grooming each other in the African savannah under the sun." "What does that mean?" Clyde wanted to ask if she meant it smelled like sunshine, but Hannah added, "It's the same as the smell from last night."
