The room fell silent. No one expected Clyde to appear. The soundproofing was excellent there, and it was unlikely he could hear what was happening in the women's area.
Most people thought that Hannah was just a secretary and that Clyde wouldn't stand up for her.
But they were proved wrong.
Clyde took off his coat and draped it over Hannah to cover her slightly exposed skin.
He had never been this close to any woman.
Everyone was dumbfounded.
"Don't be afraid." After comforting Hannah, Clyde glanced around to see whose glass was empty. He picked up Hannah's glass and raised it toward that woman from across the table.
"Stacy, I don't make things difficult for women, but you shouldn't have targeted my secretary."
