He did not fear death. He did not fear unknown possibilities of life. Nor did he fear losing people he cared for. All those things seemed so trivial that it's perhaps better to day that if he got angry because someone precious to him died one day, it would only be because his ego was hurt and sought revenge. Not even Einz, whom he once witnessed toying with a Vampire King like he's an ant was scary to him as much as the thing he feared. Back then, Mikhael had only turned for less than a year and was taken in by the trio — as their errand boy, really. They lived deep into the mountains like some old monks, and Mikhael at that time was tasked with cleaning the place. He still didn't know how to control his power so he didn't hear what the two spoke about while he swept the floor, but he clearly saw Einz beating the other guy so easily that Mikhael even suspected that the later was just a human. It was later when he asked Einz who the young guy was that he laughed it off and told him that he's the ruler of Mikhael's kind. "But you're special, so that guy can't possibly be your king. You're one of us now," — with those words, Einz ruffled Mikhael's hair who only shrugged it off, not putting the other guy in his eyes at all. Especially later when he began to train under Einz's. Mikhael didn't want to fight at the beginning. He did not see a point to such a stupid act of hurting each other. It was when he was fourteen, still a human, that some other young boys came to ridicule him because of his sudden growth. Mikhael at that time really liked to play with little animals he found and kept, so when those people found out about it, they've beaten a kitten to death in front of his eyes. Mikhael only saw red. Him at that time only wanted to kill those people. He doesn't recall much, only blood, punching and hitting with stones and bricks until he killed those guys. When he returned home covered in blood to him mother, she who always saw him as abomination only gently smiled and took him out to help him "clean up". But just as he came next to well, she pushed him down calling him a monster without an ounce of hesitation. Mikhael didn't understand why? What had he done wrong? The kids were the first to provoke him and he didn't chose to look like this on his own. But when he recalled how he killed those people, he felt afraid for the first time. He realized that he really became a monster at that moment. So be didn't call for help, with his spine and neck broken deep in the well, as his life withered for over three weeks — Mikhael didn't call for help even once. No matter how much it hurt, nor how cold he felt. He just remained down there with a simple though: it's better if I just disappear. When he finally began to lose consciousness, he smiled for the first time in his life. Even though he wasn't sure if this was how death felt like, he firmly believed that it was it — he himself didn't understand why. How perfect, finally... But instead of dying, he at that moment suddenly changed, his bones grew back perfectly as he screamed in pain. He really fell into an uncomfortable position, so it took him really long time to change and move into a decent position. Since he was stuck in there, he had to forcefully break his limbs to move, but they just grew back again and again. Mikhael truly believed that he's became a monster at that moment, so he didn't care much about his safety — yet the pain was too unbearable that he just had to move. It was at that moment that Einz passed by hearing his screams and got him out. Finding Mikhael interesting, he took him and brought him home where he met somewhat eccentric Sen who only drank tea or fished and Seth who... Was often making divination that had no sense whatsoever, but he firmly believed to be true. Mikhael only knew that they were like him, so he didn't feel very uncomfortable. Still, the trio didn't look so dangerous so Mikhael didn't worry about them wanting to harm him — even if they did, Mikhael had no qualms as to whether he lived or died. After seeing Einz beat that Vampire King back then, he asked him if fighting was any good. "It is not, but if you use it for the sake of protecting someone or in order to control yourself, then it is of some use." Mikhael had no one he truly wanted to protect. Fighting for the sake of being hot-blooded didn't seem like his thing either. But to learn how to control himself... Mikhael recalled the time when he killed for the first time. He never wanted to lose sense of himself like that ever again. So he asked Einz to train him, the later smiled. "If you slack off, I'll kill you," Mikhael didn't care much about his words, but Einz never joked. That day, Mikhael felt the terror of not being able to do a single thing for the first time, he felt strangled and suffocated. In the end, that bloodthirstiness from before appeared again and it was thanks to that that Mikhael didn't die despite his injuries. There was no bone Einz didn't break, no muscle that didn't ache. "If you want to train, it will only continue to get worse," Einz warned him, but Mikhael didn't hesitate to ask to continue. He then learnt that Einz, despite having a kind expression all the time was actually the world's biggest sadist. It's always the kind -looking ones that are the worst in this world. He was unable to control that madness asking him to take life, but Einz could suppress it like a joke. If Einz could suppress it and Mikhael gets used to it, then he too should be able to deal with it. In the end, under constant training with Einz, Mikhael grew stronger. He even managed to block some of Einz's attacks for a while, so the Vampire King who couldn't even deal with a single move of his only fell lower in Mikhael's eyes. A single moment of hesitation would mean death. A single mistake would make him unable to retaliate under Einz's beating for hours. So Mikhael could only seriously go with everything he had just to leave alive the training grounds. A half-blood won't die easily. Even if their heart is to get pierced, ripped, their heads cut off, their body grounded like a mincemeat. Mikhael experienced all those himself under Einz's training, so he knew the best where to attack a half-blood. But even as Mikhael could last less that five minutes under Einz's attacks, the later still didn't feel like he was capable enough so he taught him some spell-casting in the meantime while he was bored. Mikhael didn't put much though into Einz who only used black talismans to teach him the most basic spells until he came out and realized... That Einz and the outside world's spell-casters seem to be on two completely different levels. It was only when he came out and realized how easy was to beat up other vampires that Mikhael realized the terror of those three. Don't underestimate Sen — the fishes he got from that weird pond weighted over few tons — Mikhael picked up his weird habit after trying to fish with him. It's why he went to hunt sharks back then with a fishing road — they seemed somewhat cute compared to those Sen hunted. As for the Seth... A maniac that can fight equally with Einz was naturally not normal. When Mikhael saw the two spar just before he went down a mountain, he realized that Einz was merely playing with him compared to his real battle prowess. Mikhael refined that bloodthirstiness into another sadistic style, the one he could control to some point, but since he realized that only Einz could completely suppress him if he accidentally lost control, he decided to keep that part of himself locked away. No matter how perilous situation, Mikhael didn't want to go back to that part of him. But the more he saw outside world, the more he was disgusted with people. He also realized, if he could laze around and sleep, there would be no need to go back to that state either. The calm when he didn't have to fight was what Mikhael liked the most, so he just spent time enjoying life and going around to see the world with his own eyes. That half-blood was the first to make him lose his cool, when he came to his place with Amelia, he met a child keeping a kitten around that greeted him. The two acted like a couple traveling the world, so the girl led them through the city as a guide, in order to earn money. Mikhael spent some time with her, buying her sweets and talking, he became fond of this kid that reminded him of himself while he was still a human. But the next day, the girl was gone and when he saw he again, she was killing people with tears in her eyes. She didn't want to kill, but she was a vampire. Her thirst made he attack. Even the kitten she treasured what killed with her own hands. So Mikhael got angry. But he had no Einz by his side to stop him this time. Between torturing that guy and feeding him his own blood to not let him die, Mikhael got tired and thirsty, so he abandoned him. The little girl was surprisingly still alive, hunters had no time to deal with those children while focusing on him, so he took her along with others and decided to take care of them. Still, when he lost reason he fought like his enemy is Einz. Slacking off meant death. With Einz, even if the later ripped off his heart, he had to ignore it and continue to fight. His blood could suppress their thirst, and if he got a hand on Pureblood's, it would be even better. At that time, he ditched his position and asked to be demoted, so he had more time to take care of those kids. To them, who were rejected by the world, Mikhael became home. To Mikhael, who despised the world, they became his salvation. This time again, Mikhael lost himself in his own hate. He hated the people that ruin others for their pleasure. He hated people who had to hurt to feel better. He hated himself who could not stop it. And he hated those who did it whom thought themselves to be invincible. He knew that he won't be able to pull himself out of this, but he hated! He just hated! For no rhyme or reason whatsoever, he just hated! It was a hatred deeply itched in his bones telling him to cut that hatred. He won't be accepted if he doesn't cut, doesn't kill, doesn't hate. Within a vicious cycle, the voice in his head was telling him to kill or be rejected, kill or be rejected, kill or be rejected.... Over and over again. "Mikhael!" At that time he heard it, someone was calling out to someone. Who? Who's the one deeply concerned and whom was he concerned for? His heart ached, he didn't know why. Was it his own heart or did he feel someone else's pain? The voice in his head stopped telling him to cut, his hand was held back by someone, his eyes closed. Where was it he's supposed to cut? Why couldn't he do it? "It's fine, Mikhael," his hand was led down as someone pried his fingers open, forcing him to drop down the blade. Why? He didn't understand, why couldn't he continue to kill? He doesn't want to be rejected, he doesn't want to be left behind! But by whom... he didn't even know it himself. "You don't have to do this." Someone's voice spoke, Mikhael's own voice got stuck in his throat. But... But what... What am I supposed to do if not this? Someone held him gently like he was comforting a little child. Although their grasp was tight, Mikhael didn't feel uncomfortable at all. He was merely at loss. His eyes teared, he wanted to cry but didn't know why. What am I supposed to do now? He wanted to ask and cry out, but he himself didn't know what should he say first. He was lost, completely lost. "It's alright," the voice only continued, Mikhael felt like a lost child obeying every word of his. Since he didn't know what to do on his own, might as well listen to what he's been told to do. "She got what she deserved. I'll continue from now on, so let go..." Who is she? Let go of what? He suddenly felt very tired. "Calm down..." He was calm, he no longer wanted to cut. He just didn't want to let go of that warmth that made him feel better "...my little Flame." Yes, like an eternally burning flame in the darkness, Mikhael felt drawn to the light guiding his path. It did not feel lonely there — and like a glass shattering because of a single ever-growing crack, the darkness all around him began to fade as he calmed down. He opened his eyes and saw a hand in front of him, he was held by someone. That familiar sandalwood cologne Ethan used, but Mikhael despised oddly calmed him down this time. He suddenly recalled where he was and what was he doing. Did he... Lose control of himself again? "I'm... Fine," he whispered, whether to comfort Ethan or ascertain it for himself, he wasn't sure. "Yes, you don't have to fight anymore," Ethan continued, he was unwilling to let go of Mikhael. The frantic voice in his head told him not to let go until he was completely certain that Mikhael's fine. To give him some warmth. The child in his hands is stupid, his mind very silly. He's lonely, so embrace him. He needs you, so don't let go even if he says so. "You have me for those kinds of dirty things," yes, stain your own hands with blood so that he doesn't have to. Keep him away where no one will reach him, nothing will hurt him. "I... Sorry," Ethan still kept his hand on Mikhael's eyes, he felt like he couldn't let Mikhael see what he's done. But his eyes eyed his brothers, for the first time, he felt like he should kill them if they dare to get close to his Flame. "Let's go back, you're very tired right now," Ethan didn't hesitate to put Mikhael under suggestion. He didn't want him to become involved with what would follow after this, "You should sleep." Constantine won't let go of Mikhael, especially after learning of other's power. "No," but Mikhael weakly protested, "I need her heart, Cera..." "..." Ethan paused before sighing. "Fine, you should sleep later." He felt that Mikhael right now didn't want her heart just to play around, but he didn't want to let him stain his hands so he finally let go of Mikhael before picking up that white blade. As Yelena watched him with desperate eyes, Ethan only returned with heartless glare. "I had lived far longer than you had," Ethan began, "I don't understand why would you even think that those cheap lies could have an effect on me." He then turned to Tristan, his lips curled into a dangerous smile. "If you don't leave Eden in five minutes, then I'll make sure that you're dead. And...," He suddenly disappeared before appearing in front of Tristan. Before the later had a chance to react, Ethan stabbed the sword through his heart before his hand moved to the other guy's eyes. Unnoticeable by anyone, at the tips of his fingers some odd wisps of black smoke gathered before he pulled out the Tristan's eyes. "To dare look at what's mine, it would appear that you no longer need those eyes of yours," he said that like he merely threw away an used lighter that no longer served any purpose. "Ethanasios!" Constantine cursed, realizing that this situation escalated to the point where he could no longer do anything. Mikhael didn't bother to look at that side as he went to Yelena and pulled out her heart before appearing next to Cera and Amelia. "Lay her on the ground," he instructed and Amelia did as told. Mikhael was unreliable sometimes, but when it comes to saving others, he's the best choice out there. Moreover, seeing how serious he was with the whole heart thing, she realized that he might have a way to help Cera. Dominique stood above them, his gaze clearly said to Constantine that he won't hold back if it truly comes to a fight. "Please, Mikhael..." Please save this child. Mikhael only pulled an odd looking dagger from his void that had five black talismans stuck on it. He grabbed Cera's hand before making her hold that dagger and placed the heart on the ground next to her. Then he began to chant in an odd language as he used the blood from the heart to draw a circle with cross over it on Cera's forehead. Once he was done, he drew another at each of her hands before moving to her chest, this time drawing a more complex one. Although Diana felt complex about this situation, she stood between the two parties. After Ethan was done with Tristan, he moved back to Mikhael's side carefully watching over him — he realized that the other party was in the middle of something dangerous. Tristan, who kept silent until then suddenly roared in anger. Even though he was injured by Ethan, it's not like a cut was something serious. His injury on his heart healed, but even though his eyes should've grown back just fine... "What have you done!?" He angrily asked turning around, searching for his target. To that, Ethan only smiled with somewhat twisted expression on his face. "I already said, to dare covet and look at what's mine, you no longer need those eyes of yours." As on the cue, Mikhael finally finish d chanting and drawing that circle before he tightly gripped Cera's hand holding the dagger. Then, as if having done it many times before in the past, he plunged down that dagger into Yelena's heart. His red eyes flashed with an odd bluish glow temporary blinding him, yet he gritted his teeth and spoke out. "Suppress!" And then silence descended into the room as an overbearing pressure concentrated on that dagger.
