Chapter 5: The Lightning Sea

951 Words
Feng Wuxie spent three days familiarizing herself with the Feng family. The current head of the Feng family was her grandfather, Feng Yuanji. There were still three months left before the family head would come out of seclusion. Feng Wuxie had a hint of anticipation about meeting her grandfather, as her memories showed that the old man had been very fond of her. Her parents were missing. In her memories, she didn’t even recall her mother’s name or appearance. Her father’s features were also vague, but she remembered his name: Feng Ziya. She was the only legitimate child in the family, as her father had only married one woman, her mother. Besides her, the family included her uncle and second uncle, and her two half-sisters and one half-brother: Feng Wuxin, Feng Wuxia, and Feng Wulin. Since Feng Wuxie arrived, she had only directly interacted with Feng Wuxia. Feng Wuxin and Feng Wulin had not appeared. According to her memories, Feng Wuxin was the most powerful among the current generation of Feng family members. She was also the one responsible for imprisoning Feng Wuxie in the pigsty, attempting to murder her, and even plotting to destroy her body! Feng Wuxie had expected that after hearing about her escape from the pigsty, Feng Wuxin would definitely be curious and might come to investigate. She thought that even before the family head came out of seclusion, Feng Wuxin might find another opportunity to eliminate her. However, in the past three days, Feng Wuxin had remained silent… Feng Wuxie was not in a hurry to seek revenge. Her body was still too weak. She had been trying to make some medicinal herbs to strengthen her body. In the 21st century, she was a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Master of Western Medicine. After graduating, she was selected into the national special forces due to her excellent medical skills, serving as a military doctor for seven years. She had traversed the battlefield with a medical kit, dealing with bombs and gunfire! Now reborn into a thirteen-year-old girl’s body, in a world full of danger, she had to tread carefully! However, one question kept troubling her mind… Where did that handgun disappear to? For several nights, Feng Wuxie had racked her brain trying to figure it out! She had searched every possible place where she might have lost it, even making several rounds in the pigsty, but she couldn’t find any trace of the handgun! Eventually, she grew somewhat frustrated and muttered to the beam of the room, “Damn it, is it haunted? Where on earth did it go… It was clearly in my hand that night, how did it disappear in the blink of an eye?” “Really an i***t—” A sarcastic male voice suddenly echoed in the room, lazy and condescending. Eh? There was no one else in the room, was it another hallucination? Could it be the same illusionary handsome man from before who had said, “Don’t look at other men! And definitely don’t marry another man—”? Feng Wuxie recalled carefully and dismissed her suspicion: No! It’s not him! This voice wasn’t like his!! His voice was sweet, affectionate, and domineering, with a hint of devilish charm, almost instantly evoking images of his fox-like, seductive smile! But this voice… was full of disdain! So, it definitely wasn’t the same person! Feng Wuxie straightened up abruptly, her eyes flashing with killing intent, “Who?” “Ha.” There was no answer, only a voice dripping with cold disdain. Feng Wuxie carefully discerned that the voice didn’t seem hostile. As for the source of the voice… it didn’t appear to come from outside the room, but rather seemed to be coming from within her own room! The sound was very close to her, as if… coming from inside her body! Feng Wuxie was startled by her deduction, tightening her fists with caution, “Where are you?” “Idiot.” The voice owner lazily insulted her again, then slowly explained, “On the palm of your right hand, there is a lightning-shaped seal. Can you see it?” Feng Wuxie spread her hands out but saw nothing resembling a lightning seal. “Lying?” Feng Wuxie snorted coldly at the air, “If you have the ability, show yourself!” “Not being able to see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. If you don’t believe it, focus and try to visualize the seal—red and white, lightning-shaped, right in the center of your palm.” Despite thinking that the voice’s owner might be a complete lunatic, Feng Wuxie easily imagined the seal on her right palm based on his description. Incredibly, as she concentrated, the previously empty palm actually began to show the seal… Feng Wuxie rubbed her eyes in disbelief and reopened them—the seal was still there, not disappearing… The seal was lightning-shaped, split into two parts: the upper part was blood-red, and the lower part was pure white, glowing with a strange white light! “Wow!” Feng Wuxie’s eyes widened in shock. Before she could fully understand what was happening, the unknown voice spoke again— “This seal is currently visible only to you. When you become a soul master in the future, it will fully manifest and be visible to others. I am inside this seal. Try to feel the power of the seal, and you can enter the power space within the seal. I am in the third layer of this space.” Feng Wuxie believed him this time, immediately sitting upright, closing her eyes, adjusting her breathing, and focusing her mind. She felt it!
