I am broken

Readers beware this next chapter includes r**e. At age 10 I know my place here. I know to smile and nod when grownups ask me to do something. I know to never ever react to punishment. I should have known to say no, but that's not what I was taught. My stepdad, as I call him, asked me if I wanted to help him clean up the RV for their upcoming trip to the mountains. I smiled and nodded, because what else was I going to do? Say no and have another beating? Yeah, no thanks. I hop in the car excited to be out of the hellhole I now call home. As he drove, I noticed he kept staring at me. I couldn't say what I wanted to, which was: What? So I sat in the passenger seat, staring out the window, trying hard to pretend I was some normal girl bonding with her normal dad.We pulled up to the storage unit where it was parked and he hops out nervously looking around. I get out, ignoring him, and make my way to the RV. He glances around again. What's wrong with him, I wonder. Once inside, he locks the doors. That should have been what set me off. We never lock the doors to clean. "Go to the bedroom," he says. Whatever. I nod and head over there. I start to pull the sheets off so we can wash them when he comes up from behind me and shoves me on the bed. Great another beating. I sigh. I lay still not moving, just waiting for him to just get it over with. What's taking so long? "Your old enough now. I don't need to be gentle anymore." He snaps at me. I freeze when I hear the sound of his zipper going down. What the-? I scream bloody murder as he rams into me from behind. "Stop!" I scream. I thrash around hoping to get him off me and escape the pain. I scream again as tears run down my face."Please stop!" He doesn't seem to hear. He keeps pounding into me rough and unforgiving.Once he's done, he stands up, puts his zipper back up and says, "Clean this mess up, that's all you're good for." Tears running down my face, I nod. What else can I do? "If you tell your mother or anyone else about this, I'll kill you." I nod and start cleaning. There's blood everywhere. The smell makes me want to gag.My brain is on autopilot. I don't know my name. I don't know who I am anymore. Why me? I hear the door open and shut, leaving me alone to my inner turmoil.I fall to my knees screaming my heart out as tears pour down my face. I am broken. Officially broken.
