How did they find out?
Somebody must have helped them. Somebody must have let them know about her past and about her suicidal tendencies.
Somebody who knows well about her.
But how? There was no one in this city that could possibly know what occurred in her hometown, behind closed doors. No one that moved here, no one that followed her. She made sure that those people could never find her again. She had ran away, misdirected them and managed to escape to a safe place where no one could possibly reach her. The one person that helped her posed as her mother, or whoever she had decided for them to be, so that her uncle wouldn't suspect anything out of the ordinary.
When she got kicked out, she made sure that he would never speak to her family again.
