There was only darkness. For hours she drifted on and off, clutching to the solid object in her hands and trying to hold onto the real world. It was futile the first couple times, but when she finally came to, she woke up in an empty room. Through the darkness, it looked like a storage, but the hollow emptiness of it made Maia think that it was much bigger than it seemed. They must have carried her in and by some miracle, she managed to stuff her hands under her pajama shirt so that they couldn't see what she was holding. Her mind was foggy and for a moment she let her eyes wonder around, trying to adjust to the darkness and the headache that came right after she managed to remain awake. It was a sharp pain in her skull, one that caused her to clench her teeth and shut her eyes as tight
