Ravyn Consciousness returned slowly, bringing with it the immediate awareness that something was terribly wrong. Ravyn’s head felt like it had been stuffed with cotton, her mouth dry as sandpaper and her vision blurry. She was lying on something hard—concrete, by the feel of it—and the air around her smelled of disinfectant and old metal. As her vision cleared, she found herself staring at gray concrete walls and steel bars. A cell. She was in a cell. *Where am I?* She tried to sit up, but her body felt heavy and uncoordinated.
