Riley's POV
The events of yesterday still weighed on me, but I had managed to hold myself together. This morning, as I got ready for work, I could not tell what would happen once I walked into that building. Still, one thing was certain. I would not sit back and let them drag my name or call my strategy stolen.
The moment I stepped into the boardroom, the atmosphere shifted. Conversations cut short and the weight of unkind eyes followed me, but I kept moving. Right now, their stares were the least of my worries.
I reached my seat and lowered myself into it, forcing my shoulders straight. I braced myself, steadying my breathing.
Michael came in soon after, his presence pulling more eyes away from me. A few shareholders followed behind him. And then, Sienna walked in.
