Dinner was served, with one person noticeably absent much to Claskan’s chagrin. Everyone ate, listening to Bora as he told his tales. Bora hadn’t questioned the slaves joining their meal. Claskan would have been concerned if he had, but he didn’t so he began to calm, realizing his friend did have at least relaxed feelings about the humans. Claskan enjoyed the meal and the company but his stare always returned to the vacant seat. Carina never joined them. Why didn’t I just tell her?
