Kail landed in the same area that he and Claskan had originally. No one came out, or questioned why he was in his dragon form, nor did they question why he was carrying Paolo. It was as though no one had seen them land, but that wasn’t possible.
“You look like you all had fun!” Claskan yelled across the yard toward them. They both nodded but said nothing in return.
Paolo and Kail returned to the house and took on chores, preparations for the coming activities. The entire house smelled of baking bread and sweet treats that both craved. Kail helped clean plates, Paolo drying every one he scrubbed, and the day wore on.
Emma spent her day with Butcher, who had grown fond of the wolf since their initial introduction. He fed her as he played with the meat that he was preparing for the evening
