Chapter Seven Much to Lucy's pleasure, the following day was the very first day of the year that she could bike to her lesson instead of bothering Harley for a ride to the stables. The snow was (ever so slowly) beginning to melt, and there was just enough improvement that Lucy knew she wouldn't have to be concerned about stray ice patches along the sidewalk on her way there—which had proven to be difficult to see in the low light, even though the days were gradually becoming a little longer again. When she arrived at the barn for her lesson, there was no sign of Elise anywhere, but that was alright. It gives me more time to mentally prepare myself for our movie date.
