Chapter Twelve: Ultimatum

Zodian returned home and went back into his throne room, he summoned all the other Gods, including Reaperiam. He watched as Frailen continued hanging on the pillar, the bonds holding him occasionally sending shocks of pain through his body. It didn't take long for the other Gods to arrive. When they did most of them were surprised at what was happening in the throne room with Frailen.
When they all sat down, Zodian looked at them all. “How many of you know about Frailen and Embressa?”
Armado cleared his throat, “I knew about his obsession with her.” Twaili and Enveroo also nodded in agreement. Brillando spoke, “I knew about his obsession, but didn't care. She had rejected him, and I assumed that was the end of it.”
Reaperiam coughed and let out a quiet laugh, “I don't know and don't care, I stay out of everything that doesn't concern me.”
Zodian looked at Armado, “I know you were encouraging Frailen, you seem to think that being in love is a distraction. I see all and know all. This is my world, there is nothing that happens here that I do not know about. There are no changes that occur in you that I don't know about.”
Armado became quiet for a moment and then responded, “My Lord, I did not think he would be stupid enough to do what he was thinking about doing. I figured his fear of you was enough to keep him from doing anything.”
Zodian looked at them all, “Frailen took it upon himself to brutally murder Embressa's life mate. He stabbed him repeatedly and now Embressa is broken-hearted. He tried to blame it on her life mate saying he felt threatened and was defending himself.”
Reaperiam started laughing, “Wait, wait. He used the I was afraid of excuse when he can't die... Right because a powerful immortal God with powers must fear someone who isn’t immortal with no powers, I call bullshit.”
Zodian nodded, “That is what I said. He committed murder just because he wants something he can't have.”
Enveroo looks at Zodian, “So what do we do now?”
Zodian looks at them all, “I can't allow this to go unpunished, so, for now, Frailen will stay here with me. However, if this continues, then I will not stop the Goddesses from taking vengeance. To try and avoid this, you all will live in the realm that I have created for you. Aside from you Reaperiam.”
“I am giving you all an ultimatum, if you want to continue living, then you will stop this nonsense and learn to live in peace with the Goddesses,” Zodian tells them all.
The Gods nod in agreement and then go with Zodian as he takes them to their new home. He binds their blood to the portal as he did with the Goddesses and explains the rules to them. The gods enter and he explains everything to them.
“Your realm is called Sole Luminoso, take care of it.”
After Zodian leaves all the Gods except Reaperiam, who has gone home, all sit down and talk.
Armado is the first to speak. “Frailen and I have been speaking and there is some truth to what he has been saying. What was the point of making us with Goddesses who we aren't with? We are expected to find love with mere mortals. We deserve better than that. Besides, why is it that we need Goddesses anyway. We can handle ruling on our own, why do we need a woman who are less superior helping us?”
Enveroo nods, “I agree, which is why I think we need to either just be happy ruling here without them, or figure something else out.”
Twaili responded, “We should wait until Frailen comes, I am sure he will have some ideas.”
Brillando looked at them all, “You are all fools, and I will take no part in this.” He got up and left. There was no way he was involving himself with these idiots who were trying to get themselves into trouble. He had no problem with the Goddesses, he had found love with a woman and was happy, he didn't need anyone messing that up for him.
Two months passed and Zodian made Frailen suffer greatly the entire time, by the time he was done Frailen had scars all over his body. Zodian took Frailen to the new world and left him there, Frailen stumbled through the portal and the three gods helped him get inside the palace. They tended his wounds and tried to help ease his pain as much as they could.
When Frailen had recovered enough he continued feeding the God's uncertainties about the Goddesses...
Meanwhile, Zodian check on the Goddesses and his beloved Dragica. He told all the Goddesses that he had given the Gods an ultimatum.
“For now, they will be too afraid to act out, but it is only a matter of time before fear will no longer drive them. Whether it be in years or centuries, one day the Gods will wage war on you all. But I am sure that you will have nothing to fear. I will keep you safe.” Zodian tells them.
He pulls Embressa to the side and tells her gently, “I have spent the past two months given Frailen horrendous torture, the scars on his body will never fully heal. And if his hateful path continues, it will only be a matter of time before it consumes him, and he is destroyed by it.”
Embressa hugged Zodian and thanked him, then returned home.
Zodian spent time with Dragica in Noir Lune and they continued having their night rides.
As time passed Dragica's stomach began to swell with her child, and the night rides became too difficult to do. So, she and Zodian would take nightly walks on the beach. He would spend all on Earth guiding the people who still lived there, and then would go be with the woman he loved at night.
Zodian and Dragica were finally happy, no fights were going on and life was going good for everyone.
But still in Sole Luminoso things were different. You could feel the hate and anger growing in the hearts of the Gods. Their jealousy making them do stupid things like plot.
Frailen and Armado became the ring leaders of the others, constantly feeding them lies and treacherous thoughts.
“The Goddesses will not rest until I am destroyed for what I did, but what I did, I did for all of us. It is time we stood up and let them know we don't need them ruling with us. We should rule all. We don't need them, and we don't need Zodian getting in-between us. He should let us handle this by ourselves.” Frailen says.
Armado nods, “I think we should first find out what he has done with them. No one I have spoken to on Earth has seen the Goddesses in months. So, until we can find them, we can plot and plan all we'd like, and it won't matter.”
Frailen decided to send Twaili to scour the earth for the location of the Goddesses, but after three months he came back empty-handed.
“No one knows where they are, Frailen, all their families are gone even quite a few of the people they ruled over are gone, it’s like they disappeared into thin air,” Twaili tells him.
Armado and Frailen look at each other and then Armado shakes his head with a laugh. “What is so funny Armado?” Frailen asks.
“I know why we can't find them,” Armado says.
“Well, feel free to explain them. Frailen says getting annoyed.
Armado lets out a sigh and begins, “Well let's think about this logically, he gave us a new realm that the Goddesses can't enter unless they are given permission. It can only make sense then that he gave them a new realm as well that we can't enter without their permission. Our biggest issue will be finding the portal to their world. I am sure once we find it, we can find a way to get past the barrier and get in. Once we do that then it's simple, we take away what they love the most.”
Frailen nods, “Since we can't kill them, we will kill the ones they love, their life mates, their children, even their people until there is no one left but those who follow us and Zodian.”
Enveroo, Twaili, and Armado all agreed on that course of action and so they spent most of their time trying to rule and find the portal to the Goddesses Realm.
Several months later, Zodian awoke with a start, Dragica was screaming in the bed next to him, she was in labor. Their child was finally being born......
