Mom's POV
No one ever spared me a second look since my husband left. I became undesirable and all I had was work and the child we adopted when we were deeply in love.
Work made me feel less lonely, and I had the toys to satisfy myself at night. But they were nearly not enough for someone like myself who once knew the pleasure of a man. A grown man like the one sitting opposite me.
"This food is so delicious, Kate," he dropped his cutlery to the table as he beamed at me. Jake was the only person who ever appreciated my efforts. He complimented me every morning when I went out for work and loved every food I made even if it was salty.
