“Everything I did, I did for love.”
I clenched my chest as if it would relieve the betrayal suffocating me.
“Tsk, everything except the thing that mattered the most,” Lucas scoffed.
“s*x?” He broke our ten-year relationship after getting his secretary pregnant. He’d told me she was nothing to worry about.
Just a colleague, he’d said when I asked why they attended all meetings together.
She’s just a friend, he’d said when they started wearing matching outfits.
“She’s pregnant and the baby is mine,” he said twenty minutes ago after she dragged her box into our house.
