Present Day
Dominique's POV
I dug my nails into his skin as he continued to thrust into me. I buried my head in his neck to keep my screams hidden, "f**k," he said as his thrusts became faster and faster. My moans became harder to hide as I neared my orgasm.
We both were about to reach our high when I heard a knock on the door followed by a small voice, "mommy, daddy?" My daughter, Veronica, said on the other side of the door. I quickly pushed Matteo off of me and put my shirt back on, Matteo does the same and put his clothes back on. As if waiting for us to finish, my daughter opened the door and ran to the bed sitting down in the middle of us. I looked at Matteo rolling my eyes, he forgot to lock the door.
"You're up early," I told her. I thought I still had some time before I had to start my day.
"Yep," she replied. "fifteen minutes early," she said sounding proud. I looked at the clock across from the bed, she was right.
"Aren't you smart?" I asked her. She chuckled, I moved her curls out of her face and gave her a good morning kiss on her forehead. "Why don't you go and watch Mickey Mouse?" I asked her, "I'll go shower then I can get you ready for school?" I asked. She nodded her head in agreement with a smile.
"Picky back ride?" She asked her dad holding up her two hands. I smiled looking at her smile, she was now missing two of her teeth. She looked cute with it though. When it came to Veronica, me, his mother, and his brother, Gabriel, Matteo's rough personality and cold heart often took a vacation. I'm surprised at how good of a father he has been to our baby.
"Yes," her dad replied. He sat up and she put her hands around his neck and her feet around his waist. I laughed and watched as they walked out the door. I sighed and got off the bed. I took my clothes off so I can hop in the shower to start my busy day. The door opened again and Matteo walked inside, he closed the door and made sure to lock it this time. "What are you doing?" He asked me. "We still have fifteen minutes," he added. He pushed me on the bed and climbed on top of me.
I chuckled, he slammed his lips against mine,

"Baby, please eat your breakfast or you're going to be late for school," I said to Veronica when she wouldn't eat her breakfast. She pouted her lips and pushed the plate to the side. She was just like her father sometimes, stubborn as a horse. She hasn't been eating, her appetite was just gone. I talked to her doctor about it and I've tried everything she's told me, but nothing seemed to be working. The only person who could get her to take a bite of her food was Matteo's little but big brother, Gabriel.
I took my cup to get myself some coffee to see if I could survive my day, Amy, our maid came to get the coffee for me. "I got it," I told her. I poured myself some fresh coffee admiring the nasty taste. Coffee really didn't taste that good, but I found myself falling in love with it every day.
"Good morning, baby," Matteo came in the kitchen. He kissed our daughter's forehead rubbing her curly hair. "You have to eat, baby," he said to her. He kissed her forehead again and the tall handsome man I get to call my boyfriend walked up to me. He pulled me towards him wrapping his hand around my waist, "sweetheart," he said in my ears.
"I'm sorry that I can never get enough of you," he said sarcastically in my ears. He wrapped his hands around my waist, I was about to say something when I spotted his brother, Gabriel, walking in the kitchen. He paused when he saw us, I knew it hurt him everytime he would. It hurts me to have to hurt him like that.
It hurts that we have to pretend that we are simply in-laws and nothing else. I put my head down trying to think of the man that loved me dearly that was now whispering sweet nothings into my ear. "Uncle Gabbie," my daughter said making Matteo pull away. Gabriel walked up to her and gave her a hug also kissing her forehead.
"You're not eating your food," Gabriel frowned. He took the fork of eggs and put it in Veronica's mouth. "What if we make a deal?" He asked her. "If you eat all of this, I'll buy you ice cream after school and we can watch The Little Mermaid together if that's okay with your parents," he said looking at us waiting for a permission. I nodded my head giving it to him.
"Will you also sing along?" Veronica asked him. He chuckled, the sound of his rough voice sent shivers down my body. I loved hearing his laughter in the morning, it was always limited. Only Veronica got him to laugh sometimes, over the years I've watched as he closed himself off to everyone around him.
He always used to be the fun one, the rebellious one while Matteo was just the one who followed orders, but it seemed that Gabriel had completely changed. Not only was he rebellious, he didn't want to talk to anyone in the house if he didn't have to. "Yes, I'll sing along," he replied. Sometimes, I question if he was the father of my daughter. He was so good with her, he was always the cool uncle and that made me love him more. "Now, open up," he said to her.
"We have a meeting with Alonso," Matteo told his brother. Gabriel simply nodded his head, "Can you come with me?" He asked him. Matteo removed his hand away from my waist and walked to the island where they were standing. Veronica continued to eat her food which made me happy, Matteo and Gabriel continued to talk about work or what not.
Their mother, Aurora, walked into the kitchen. She looked over at me and rolled her eyes. The click of her heels is heard as she took a seat beside her sons. Aurora was a powerful woman, the head of the family business even though her husband was still alive. Her husband and father of the boys, Alberto, was the complete opposite of them all. He was actually a calm man, he was an artist. He spent most of his time in his room. He said it was his way of dealing with this cruel world. He had given up the family job long ago and decided to keep out of it.
"Boys," she began her conversation. "I've heard that you haven't taken care of that man, Alonso," she said.
We're taking care of it today, mother," Matteo replied.
"I trust you that the money will be returned as well?" She asked. Matteo nodded his head, she smiled. The maid, Amy, came and gave her breakfast. "Vee," she said to Veronica. "How are you?" She asked.
"Good, today we are going to a field trip at school," she said showing the little teeth she had left. The six-year-old continued to inform her grandmother about the field trip her class was taking to the museum today. "Then uncle Gabbie and I are watching The Little Mermaid together and he will be singing along," she added proudly.
"How did you get the cold-hearted, Gabriel, to sing along with you?" She asked looking at her son. Gabriel looked at his mother and rolled his eyes.
"He said he would as long as I eat my food," she said. She took a bite of her food again trying to finish all of it.
"He wouldn't have to if your mother would fix that little problem," she mumbled under her breath. I huffed, Aurora did not believe I was a good enough mother. How was I to fix her eating problems? I've tried everything I possibly can think of, I can't force food down her throat. The doctor said it could be an early sign of Anorexia, let's just hope that she is wrong. I ignored Aurora's comment, I didn't want to start an argument. I learned the hard way that you shouldn't argue with your mother in law, she will always end up winning one way or another.
She doesn't believe that I am good enough for her son either, maybe she was right about that. I didn't believe I was good enough for him either, Matteo has been so good to me, to our daughter and I've been lying to him for over a decade.
"Come on, honey," I said to Veronica. "We have to leave now if you don't want to be late," she stuffed her mouth with food trying to finish all of it so her uncle would still keep his promise.
"All done," she said to her uncle.
"Fair enough, I will pick you up from school," Veronica gave him a kiss on his cheek, he chuckled and gave her a hug. Veronica did the same for her dad and her grandma. "Be good," Gabriel told her as she walked out the kitchen.
Veronica grabbed her bag and we made our way out of the house. "Was that necessary?" I heard Matteo asked as I made my way out the door. "Veronica has an eating problem, she couldn't have possibly done anything to fix it. Believe it or not, she is a better mother than you'll ever be." I head his voice say, I hated that I was the cause of his arguments with his mother. I hated that I was constantly coming in the middle of him and his family.
"Watch how you speak to your mother, child," I head his mother snaps back. "That girl is trouble, she doesn't deserve your love."
"Come on, mommy," Veronica said standing outside waiting for me. I turned and gave her a smile, I walked out the door and held my daughter's hand as we walked to the car. "Do you think they'll have dinosaurs?" She asked. I laughed as she continued to talk about her field trip.
