Blessings from Father in-Law

1025 Words
"dinner is ready." sofia stood up as soon as she heard his voice. she approached to notice the fruits of her labor, and had to admit her cooking looked delicious, "since when did you learn to cook?" "you'd be surprised if i told you i studied after my application was accepted by you." "a month ago?" dominic nodded slightly, "i know we have both busy jobs, so i want to replace you with cooking if you're too tired after work." sofia was at a loss for words. he didn't expect her to learn to cook for the sake of both of them, he thought deeply about their future, but instead he... "i..." "you regret cheating?" dominic guessed with a sweet smile, "show with your actions that you really want to be with me." sofia admits that she is a little sorry for their relationship that ended like this, but do it again? he didn't want that yet, he couldn't if he locked him up like this, "mhm—!" he wasn't ready for a kiss, just frozen in place until it was over. he didn't feel anything. enthusiastic, pounding heart, and timid desire to feel his love any longer. he doesn't feel it all, unlike arsenio... sofia pushed dominic's chest away from him, ending it all, "we better eat before it gets cold." "okay." dominic answered with a smirk hidden at the corners of his lips. *** arsenio waited until he fell asleep in the car because of boredom until someone knocked on the car window door, waking him from his deep slumber, "oh ..." he lowered the window, "sorry, is the restaurant closed?" the person looked at him first before replying, "fifteen minutes before we close the restaurant, mr. grace." arsenio didn't think he slept for two hours, i don't know what happened during his sleep. he blamed himself for acting carelessly, "is sofia working today?" he knows mia has already given him an answer, but who knows he is lying. he needs reassurance not just from one person alone. the person shook his head, "ms. sofia doesn't work here. doesn't she work at your mother's restaurant?" "oh...right." i mean, the people who work in sofia's parents' restaurant don't know anything, "what about mr. harrington?" "mr. harrington is still at work." "can you tell him to come here?" arsenio asked for help, "but don't let mrs. harrington know about this. ok?" he took out a number of bills to smooth out his plan. the man accepted, though confused by arsenio's rikues, "i'll try." "thanks." arsenio saw the man rush back into the restaurant marked 'closed' on the door. he waited again, "just this once. just this once." he cannot bear to hear insults from mia again if he finds out she is still here. 'hopefully, uncle oliver is more open minded and willing to meet me.' arsenio knows very well that oliver's character is more or less the same as his father who is more logical in dealing with a problem and does not take sides. but if oliver refuses to see him, he doesn't know what to do. he doesn't know where sofia is to solve their problems. arsenio checked his cell phone. nothing. no messages from sofia. arsenio took a deep breath. what's really wrong with it? he doesn't understand, "just this morning i got happiness. now...!" i don't know what sofia heard while she was working until she resigned too. "oh?" arsenio heard a knock on the car window, and his eyes sparkled it was oliver, although the expression on sofia's father's face looked unfriendly, he was happy that oliver still wanted to see him. he hastily rolled down the windshield. "you have to go, arsenio." oliver said coldly, "you're not wanted here." arsenio can accept it, but ... "let me thank you for coming to see me, uncle." he said with a bitter smile. "arsenio, i believe i didn't want those words," oliver said, "don't act recklessly, and get out of here right now." "i couldn't have done it." arsenio refuses to obey him "i'll go after i know why people treat me like i'm a bad guy to sofia." "don't go near sofia again. that's all." "i'm sorry, but i can't because sofia is my wife and the woman i love." arsenio refused to comply again, "i know you hate me, but i beg you to tell me what i did wrong so i can fix things, uncle." oliver give silent treatment. "i'll kneel if you want." arsenio got out of his car, "as long as you give me an answer." "don't be an unnecessary concern," oliver criticized arsenio's extreme actions. "then what should i do!?" arsenio couldn't stop himself from venting his disappointment at oliver. she is fed up with people asking her to leave without telling me what the problem is, "tell me what it is! where is sofia? i can't lose her again. please, tell me!?" oliver averted his gaze. arsenio now reminded him of someone he knew, "try to think what wrong you have done." "i tried, and couldn't find it." arsenio replied quickly in despair, "i didn't destroy their relationship, dominic who hid all that from sofia from the start. i only helped her because she needed a sincere relationship, because i care about her. because this is my fault she was stuck in the wrong relationship. ." "what do you mean, arsenal?" oliver doesn't understand it all. arsenio looked down, watching oliver silently through his eyelashes. he was too desperate to let it all out, which sofia's father didn't have to hear, "i've loved sofia since college, i let her have a relationship with dominic without telling her that the man cheated on her." oliver was stunned for a moment, before exhaling, "you guys never stop surprising me." he complained. he thought dominic was a good man from the way mia was so proud of dominic in front of him, "tell me everything, i will judge." arsenio smiled a little. he knew oliver wouldn't take sides when it came to matters. he felt a glimmer of hope in the darkness all day long.
