Time seemed to stand still as everyone gaped in shock. Alpha Jonathan was the first to move, shifting and tackling the large dragon before us. His bears followed suit, dog-piling on top of it, jaws snapping shut around everything they could get ahold of: wings, legs tail, horns. And then the panthers, clawing and biting at his leathery wings and soft underbelly.
Gaize dropped to the dirt as the tail was yanked from his chest. I hopped over to him, pulling him up to my chest, my tears dropping to his face. Blood stained his lips as he coughed and looked up at me. But the fire was still alit in his eyes.
“Relax Kitten,” he coughed. “I can’t be killed that easily.”
