Birth of a Prince

It’s been months and now Zab is currently in labor and about to give birth to their second child. Alex was with her in her room in the infirmary, holding her hand. “Babe, are you sure you don’t want an epidural?” Alex asked his wife. “I can take the pain, damn it.” Zab hissed, tightening her grip on Alex’s hand as another round of contractions hit her. “But I can’t,” Alex mumbled as, for the fifth time, Zab had broken the bones in his hand.   Then the door opened and Camilla and Liam came in. “Moooom...” Zab whined as soon as she saw her mother.   Camilla sat on the chair beside the bed and held her daughter’s hand. “How are you?” Camilla asked her daughter. “It hurts mom.” Zab cried, and Alex gave her a deadpan look.   Liam stood behind Alex and gave him a pat on the shoulder. “Any news on what’s happening where Creon is at?” Zab asked and Camilla sighed. “I got a word that an attack had happened in the community and they needed help,” Camilla said, and Zab tried to get up.   But she fell back down as a strong wave of pain shot up her lower abdomen. “Zab just lie down. Your baby is about to be born, you have to focus on him.” Camilla reminded her daughter. “But Creon, he needs help,” Zab said. “Honey, you won’t be any help of the moment.” Liam cooed his daughter. “Your father’s right, Zab. I will take care of it. What I want you to focus on yourself and your baby.” Camilla said, and Zab cried as the pain intensified and she was upset that she couldn't help her brother.    A few more hours passed and Zab is in active labor. The pack doctor and some nurses are in Zab’s room as they assist her in giving birth. In every scream of pain that came out of Zab’s lips, the glass around them shattered, things float, and the electronics short circuits as electricity fluctuates. “Your highness, I just need one strong push and all of this will be over.” The pack doctor said.   Holding Alex’s hand, Zab heaved a deep breath and let out a strong push. And in seconds they heard the first cry of their baby boy. Both Alex and Zab smiled widely upon hearing the baby’s cry. Alex kissed Zab and started whispering sweet words to her ear.   Alex cut the umbilical cord and the baby was taken to the side to be cleaned while the pack doctor waits for the placenta to come out. When it was discarded, the pack doctor started cleaning Zab as her bleeding began to lighten and stopped completely. And the other nurses helped her change into a fresh pair of pajamas. The lines were also changed as Zab started to recover.   Then all of a sudden, the nurses who were cleaning the baby began to scream in fear. Alex and Zab turned towards them and they were both surprised to see their newborn son’s skin turning to gray, with black and red veins visible all over his skin.  “A-Alex...” Zab called to her husband.   The medical team has taken several steps away from the newborn baby. Then the bassinet where the baby was caught on fire and a pentagram formed on the floor with language no one of them could understand. And as that pentagram continued to burn, the baby’s body began to give off an aura that was darker than the night as black and white energy began swirling around his body. “Alex, what’s happening to our baby?” Zab asked as her body froze.   Alex didn’t understand what was happening to their newborn son, and all he could do is hold his mate’s hand.   Then all of a sudden, the door opened and Liam, the Queen, and Zari came in. Their eyes widened upon seeing what was happening, especially when they felt a very strong demonic energy swirling around him. “What is happening?” Liam asked.   Camilla hissed and then she turned towards Alex. “Alex, open a portal that will lead them out of this room.” The Queen ordered Alex, pointing at the medical team.   Alex nodded and immediately opened a portal. “Go ahead.”    The medical team entered the portal that led them outside the infirmary. When the portal closed up, the baby cried louder, and then ancient inscriptions appeared on his skin. A very strong energy came off him like a tidal wave, as outside the infirmary, the wind blew strong, dark clouds gathered above and thunder roared, making the ground vibrate.  “Zander is scared.”   Zari’s small voice caught their attention. “What do you mean he’s scared?” Liam asked, and then Zari turned towards her grandfather. “He doesn’t understand that he is now outside mommy’s tummy. He wants mommy.” Zari explained.   Hearing what her daughter said, Zab immediately hopped off the bed and she dashed towards the burning bassinet. Surprisingly, she wasn’t burned by the fire as she took her baby in her arms. Zab cooed to him, pulling her close to her chest. “Don’t cry now, my baby. Mommy is here.” Zab whispered.   Then slowly, the fire died down as the baby’s skin began to turn back to its normal pinkish color. When everything goes back to normal, Alex approaches his mate and newborn son. He looks at them with so much love and kissed the top of the baby’s head. “What happened?” Liam asked. “Love, I think our new grandson has more demon blood in him than I expected,” Camilla said. **************************.   When they figured that the baby was still very attached to his mother. So after they were discharged, they let Zab sleep with the baby in their own room in the castle.   And while they sleep, Camilla and Liam call Alex into her office. “What is it mom, dad?” Alex asked as soon as he entered her office. “Alex, please sit down,” Liam said, and Alex sat down on the couch as both his parents sat down in front of him. “Alex, we all witnessed what happened to your baby. Apparently, the demon blood in him is far greater than yours. It’s like he’s more of a demon than a lycan or a vampire.” Camilla started. “What are you trying to tell me?” “I think for the safety of everyone, I wish to put the demon in him asleep until he is old enough to be able to handle such power.”    Alex stood up as soon as he heard what the Queen said. “Mom, Zander is just a baby. You can’t possibly subject him to a ritual.” Alex hissed. “It’s for everyone’s safety, Alex. He’s still a baby, so there is no way he can control what power he possesses the next time he throws a tantrum.” Liam said. “But dad, we don’t know if he’ll throw a fit again. It could be a one-time thing.” “And if it isn’t?”    Alex fell silent after what the Queen said. Then he huffed and rubbed his palms on his face. “What will Zab say about this? You’re talking about our newborn baby.” Alex stressed. “I agree.”   They all turned towards the door where Zab was standing with the baby in her arms and Zari beside her. “Zab, why are you here with the kids?” Alex asked as he approached them.   Zab then looked at his mate. “Zari just had a vision,” Zab said, and then Alex looked down on his daughter, before crouching down at her height. “What did you see, sweetheart?” Alex asked.   Zari was looking down at her feet.   Then Camilla and Liam stood up and approached them as well. “Zari, please tell us what you saw,” Camilla said.   Then Zari slowly looked at her father. “I saw Zander burning the whole castle a few days from now,” Zari said and Camilla gasped.   Then Zari looked at her. “But the vision changed, grandma. The next thing I saw was a much older Zander fighting ugly demons looking like how he looked earlier.” Zari explained. “Her vision changed when you decided to put his demon to sleep. Mom, for the sake of everyone else, especially my children, I agree with your plan,” Zab said. “Put his demon to sleep.”
