Chapter II

645 Words
Today is one of those typical days where I just stuck my nose on books, well, I like to study a lot. But, let me tell you; I'm not like those nerdy teenagers who wear baggy shirts and big framed glasses. Nope. I dress like the other teenagers in today's generation.  I was doing my homework in Calculus when I felt my phone from my back pocket buzz, I fish it out. I look to my phone then to my Calculus book. After a few debate with myself, I decided to just finish first my assignment before casting my attention to my 'not so interested phone.' After what felt like eternity of figuring out on how to solve Math's problem, I get my phone from my pocket and look through my phone's screen. My eyes wonder to my social media when I had been notified that someone sent me a friend request. I look through the content and my eyes went wide as I come to realize that it's him. I look through his profile and It's the guy whom I'm having a crush on and the person who offered me an umbrella a few years back. Don't get me wrong, you all are wondering why I haven't sent him the request, well, it's because I don't know his name. But now, I already know his name. That's what matters, right? I am just seeing him but I'm not that friendly type who would smile and ask for names and I don't have friends to gossip with, well, if my five year old neighbor is counted, so there's no way that I could know his name, besides, I kind of have a lot of siblings so it doesn't matter if I don't have friends. I accepted his request and after a few seconds when I received a message and guess what? It's from him. I look away from my phone screen and I let my index finger do the job to open the message. And when I look at it... NATE OAKMAN: Hi. "Oh, wow. Tasha. You're afraid to look at the word 'Hi,'" I muttered to myself. So, I fixed my sit and straightened my back as I reply the total cliché of all time. TASHA RAUX: Hello. A long silence crept on me as my mind wonder about how did he come to know me and was able to find me on social media. My thoughts were interrupted when a message from him came up. NATE OAKMAN: So, Tasha Raux is ur real name? TASHA RAUX: Uh, yes. You know me? NATE OAKMAN: Yah. U are the girl who was about to attack the rain, right? After I read the last word of his message, I fell out of my chair with a huge thump than can really shake the house.  "Honey! Are you okay up there?" My mom yelled from downstairs as I heard one of my siblings laugh loudly and said. "Earth to Tasha! You're not in a book. You're on a chair." And I heard the majority of my siblings laughed. I glare at the direction of the voices. "I'm alright, mom!" I shouted back assuring mom that I'm fine. "And I heard you, Loui!" I replied to my annoying brother.  "I know, sissy." He replied back still laughing. I snort at him and get myself up. "When I'm done here, you'll be dead!"  NATE OAKMAN: R u still there? TASHA RAUX: My brother is annoying me. SLR. NATE OAKMAN: How many siblings do u have? TASHA RAUX: 2 sisters, 3 brothers. NATE OAKMAN: U r lucky. TASHA RAUX: Why is that? NATE OAKMAN: B'coz I don't have one. "Oh, What am I suppose to say next?" I can't even think of... Maybe, I should say 'You can have my brother if u want?' Is that even appropriate? Not a good idea. And the next thing I know, I did something that add to my biggest regrets in life. TASHA RAUX: I can be your sister.
