CHAPTER 10

ALPHA CAMERON

Earlier that day...

I am in my office signing some papers when I heard a knock. It's still six in the morning. Who could have come early this morning? "Come in." still reading the paper infront of me. Someone cleared her throat. I looked up and it's Roda, Luz's mother. "Good morning Alpha." Roda said with grim expression on her face. "What can I do for you?" I straightened my back and studying her.

We're a very close friend. Her husband is an Omega but a great warrior and a good friend of mine. And her family serves us as long as I can remember. But one day everything changed. She's been asking me to give a gift for her daughter. And not just an ordinary necklace. A protection necklace. I need to ask a dark witch for it to be made. For whatever reason I didn't asked. Maybe the apparition of the Goddess in my dreams has influence also not to question her. "Trust her." the Goddess said.

"I remembered everything now." she said looking down on the floor. "Sit down. Looks like you'll pass out." she nodded and sat down. "The Goddess let me remember what happened and to tell it to you." she said while taking a big deep breath.

It's the Lunar Eclipse yet the supernaturals didn't feel any pull from the moon. Even shifting is becoming hard and some feels weak.

Her husband died in the war and she was 5months pregnant. Four days after her husband died her child died inside her stomach. Sadness and the feeling of being alone drove her mad. She was running without direction trying to escape from the reality. Exhausted by running, she walked lifelessly aiming for no direction. Then she saw something fell down. It's like a shooting star glowed brightly white. But it must be something ! Curious on what it might be she followed the direction.

RODA

A few feet away I could already see a bright light. Nearing to it I figured that it's a woman, a glowing woman. Is a glowing woman even possible? I cleared my mind and studied the said woman. A petite woman with grey long hair reaches to her knees probably. I couldn't really figure out since she's laying face down and hair scattered everywhere. She has the palest skin and her dress is the purest white I ever saw, I think that's why it glowed. I couldn't see well her face because it is covered with her hair. I went near beside her and touched her. She moaned a clue that she's still alive. Thank Goddess! But it seems she's hurt she has a stab at her back just where her heart is. I turned her and put her head on my lap. Looking at her face she has long curly lashes. Straight nose and cute lips. She opened her eyes and I could see blue pupils and grey iris.

"Please. Help me!" she said in gasping voice trying to surpress the pain so she could talk. " How can I help you?"

"I'm Selene."

"Selene? The Moon Goddess?" I can't believe it! Yet deep down I know she's saying the truth.

"What happened?" I asked.

"I was doing the ritual for the lunar Eclipse to give more energy to my children. I invited several people in my palace to witness the ritual. But one of them betrayed me." she explained trying to suppress the pain by grinding her teeth together.

"But, how can I help you?" I don't have anything what help can I offer to her? Even my precious child left me! I'm all alone now!

"You had a baby girl and a husband died in war." she stated the fact and hurt rushing in my chest I think I couldn't breath anymore!

"In your situation right now you could become a rogue but your life is longer." she said breaking my thoughts.

"If you agree. Can i have 50 years of your life? In return I'll give life to her. But there are consequences." Her? It's a girl? It's a girl! My heart leap for hope and joy! My baby girl will be alive and I'll give everything for her! I couldn't form a word to say so I just nodded for her to go on. "You will die on her 16th birthday. I can't give more than that. I'm sorry." She looked past me. And I know this is the answer for my prayer. "That's more than enough for me Goddess! Thank you very much for letting a lowly Omega help you and yet you bless me." this is so overwhelming eventhough it's just a little time I will treasure every moment with her! I would love to see her with her mate and with my grandkids. But for now this is all enough, more than enough.

"Don't worry. She might be an omega but she has the power of more than an Alpha. She has my essence, so she's as powerful as I am. She will have exceptional abilities more than an Alpha. And thus an Omega will rise!"

"Thank you again Goddess!" It gives me peace and security knowing what her future will be.

"But for this. I'll need to erase your memory of our meeting and to not intervene with fate anymore." and everything went black and she woke up from the sound of heartbeat inside her.

When the baby was born a surge of power was felt. By then a series of rogue attacks happened. Goddess Celine showed up on Alpha Clarences dream to call a dark witch to make a protection spell and a necklace. That's why every year he's been giving her necklace for protection. And Luna Daisy has been very supportive about it. She will know when the time comes she always say.

I just know the whole story now. That's why her baby was alive at that time. We thought of it as a miracle and I didn't expect it to be like this. As the story sink in my head I looked at her in horror. So, does this means she will die today?

"Yes." as if she could read my mind.

"Eherm. I don't know what to say?" clearing a big lump on my throat. I couldn't look at her anymore so I turn my back at her and stared out the window. "What do you want me to do?"

"Just protect her please." she's a very strong woman. Not even a tear escape from her eyes all this time. But I can feel it everytime she talks. The heaviness of the feeling as she say those words.

"I will." and I heard a chair move as she stand up and bowed down at me. I turned at her. "I'll protect her no matter what and I'll keep her secret until the time comes."

"Thank you!" and she went to the door. As she reached the door "Good riddance Roda." she stopped for a moment. Nodded and went out of the room. I slumped back on my chair feeling exhausted in everything. Wolves fights until their last breath. But for her, I'm lost for words. Knowing that you'll die on this day is very unfair?
