Episode 11: The Classroom That Remembers

The words echoed through the darkness. "Class has begun." Kia felt the cold breath disappear from behind him. For a few seconds, nobody moved. Nobody wanted to. The classroom door remained closed. But something inside was waiting. Daniel slowly raised the fire extinguisher. "We need to leave." Lena shook her head. "Leave where?" The hallway behind them was gone. The elevator had disappeared. The only thing left was the classroom marked: CLASS 13 Maya looked at the symbol on her wrist. It was glowing again. "It's calling me." Kia looked at her. "Don't listen to it." But Maya stared at the door. "I don't think it's calling me." She swallowed. "I think it's showing me something." Before anyone could answer, the classroom door opened by itself. Slowly. Creaking. A cold wind flowed out. Inside were thirteen desks. Only thirteen. At the front of the room was a teacher's desk. But there was no teacher. On the blackboard, written in white chalk, was a sentence: TODAY'S LESSON: REMEMBER WHAT YOU FORGOT. Daniel stepped back. "No." Kia looked at him. "What?" Daniel pointed at the classroom. "This place knows too much." The four of them entered carefully. The moment they stepped inside... The door closed behind them. The classroom changed. The broken walls became new. The dusty floor became clean. The old desks became occupied. Students appeared. Thirteen students. Sitting silently. Watching them. Kia froze. Because one of those students was Ethan. "Ethan..." The boy slowly lifted his head. But something was wrong. His eyes looked empty. Like he was there... But not really there. Daniel moved forward. "Ethan!" The students turned their heads toward him. All at the same time. A horrible silence filled the room. Ethan stood up. But he didn't walk toward them. He walked to the blackboard. He picked up a piece of chalk. And wrote: DON'T TRUST THE TEACHER. Everyone looked at the empty teacher's desk. Nothing was there. Then the chair slowly moved. Someone sat down. A figure appeared. A teacher. An old man wearing a dark suit. His face was hidden by shadows. "Welcome, students." His voice was calm. Too calm. "You are late." Kia stared. "Who are you?" The teacher smiled. "I am the first teacher of the 13th floor." The room became colder. Lena whispered: "That's impossible." The teacher looked at her. "Many things are impossible here." He tapped the desk. "That is why this floor exists." Daniel stepped forward. "Where is Ethan?" The teacher looked toward Ethan. "He failed his lesson." Ethan lowered his head. Maya stepped closer. "What lesson?" The teacher smiled. "The lesson of remembering." The lights flickered. The classroom walls began changing. Images appeared. Memories. Old memories. Kia saw himself as a child. Standing inside this same building. Near the elevator. His eyes widened. "No..." Daniel looked at him. "Kia?" Kia couldn't answer. Because he remembered. A door. A strange hallway. A voice calling his name. He had been here before. The teacher looked at him. "You see?" "You were never a stranger to the 13th floor." The classroom became silent. The teacher continued: "You were the first student who opened the door." Kia stepped back. "That's not true." The teacher smiled. "Then why does the floor remember you?" The lights went out. A scream came from somewhere inside the classroom. When the lights returned... One desk was empty. One student was gone. And written on the blackboard were new words: ONE MEMORY RESTORED. Kia looked at the teacher. The teacher smiled. "Now..." "Let us begin the second lesson." The classroom became silent. Too silent. Kia stared at the words on the blackboard. ONE MEMORY RESTORED. His mind felt heavy. The images he had just seen kept replaying. The elevator. The hidden hallway. The door. The voice calling his name. A memory he had forgotten. A memory that should not have existed. Daniel looked at him. "Kia... what did you see?" Kia didn't answer immediately. Because he was afraid of the truth. "I was here before." Maya looked shocked. "What do you mean?" Kia looked around the classroom. "I came to this building years ago." The teacher smiled. "Finally." Everyone turned toward him. "You are beginning to remember." Kia looked at the teacher. "What did you do to me?" The teacher slowly stood. "I did nothing." He walked between the desks. "The 13th floor only reveals what is already inside you." Lena held her grandmother's notebook tightly. "You are lying." The teacher looked at her. "Your grandmother said the same thing." Lena froze. "You knew my grandmother?" The teacher stopped. "Everyone who searched for the truth eventually came here." The classroom lights flickered. The students sitting at the desks slowly lowered their heads. One by one. Like they were afraid of something. Daniel noticed. "Why are they scared?" The teacher looked at the students. "Because they know what happens when the lesson ends." A cold wind passed through the classroom. The empty desk in the back suddenly moved. A chair pulled itself out. Then words appeared on the desk: NEW STUDENT REQUIRED. Everyone stepped back. Maya looked at the teacher. "No." The teacher smiled. "The 13th floor always needs a class." The classroom door opened. Beyond it was darkness. Then a shadow appeared. Walking slowly. Everyone watched. The shadow entered the room. It was wearing an old school uniform. But the face was hidden. The teacher pointed. "Your new classmate." The figure stopped beside the empty desk. Then slowly lifted its head. Kia froze. Because the face was familiar. It was the headmaster. But something was different. His eyes were empty. His expression was emotionless. "Sir..." Daniel whispered. The headmaster looked at them. But he did not recognize them. The teacher smiled. "He has completed his lesson." Kia stepped forward. "What did you do to him?" The teacher tilted his head. "He learned the truth." The headmaster sat down. Like he was just another student. Maya looked terrified. "We need to get out." The teacher laughed softly. "Nobody leaves during class." The classroom door slammed shut. The walls shook. The blackboard changed. A new sentence appeared: LESSON TWO: FIND THE FIRST DOOR. Lena looked confused. "First door?" The teacher turned toward Kia. "He knows where it is." Everyone looked at Kia. Kia shook his head. "I don't." The teacher smiled. "But your memory does." Suddenly, the classroom disappeared. The students, the teacher, and the desks faded away. Kia, Daniel, Maya, and Lena stood somewhere else. A hallway. An old hallway. One Kia recognized. His childhood memory. At the end of the hallway was a door. The same door. The first door. The door that started everything. Maya looked at him. "You opened that?" Kia stared at it. "I don't remember." The teacher's voice echoed around them. "But you will." The door slowly opened. Inside was darkness. Then a child's voice whispered: "Kia..." Kia froze. Because the voice was his own. A younger version of himself. The darkness inside the room moved. And something stepped forward. Something that had been waiting for years. The teacher's voice whispered: "Welcome back to the beginning." The door slammed shut behind them. And the lesson continued.
