Rebellion

A group of nobles and warriors all agreed in unison to go against the rule. Z issued a pardon for all who were willing to embark. Scott also signed us up to test his coal alternative fuel source, idly developing the delicate formula for over 16 years, failing an immeasurable number of times usually in very comedic ways, such as during our high school science project . Simply, he would not let us use traditional methods, insisting it would prove more effective to avoid detection from the guards who watch the gate at the mouth. We agreed to meet at midnight just as the guards were switching shifts. Sandy Whitchal waited at the meeting spot among the fields of golden grass beside the abandoned Whitchal farm. It was the perfect spot since the brush was thick and the abandoned structures provided excellent coverage. However, this place also harbors memories, thus the abandonment. Sandy remembers more about this place than she would care to know. Our family joined Culo’s caravan of eight or nine other settlers moving north to find more fertile land. I do not remember why my father decided to uproot, we had all the essentials, even a nice sanctuary built from the scraps of the vast lands. As she pondered how the spark hit, there was a roaring hot fire I could hardly see because my eyes were smoked out, but it was pixelated. We owned two mules and a basic cart. Cassandra, my mother. I could feel her loving embrace as she tucked me into the back of the cart in a hurry like something wasn't right. I can hear men screaming off in the distance firing off gunshots in our direction. I can not see but I can hear the bullets whirling past or into the wooden cart sending fear shooting through me. Sandy? Are you ok? You were completely out. Yes, we are fine. Let's keep moving. We moved swiftly across the plains to the next library in the desert. We know of its existence only in fairy tells as kids probably among the books Volt has stashed, and we intend to find out why., Seeing nothing until we crossed the biome boundary line, that is when we were surrounded by sandtilins. These little creatures Grandpa used to ramble about, - - - little dinos equipped to survive in the desert for months. They are only 1.5 feet, so small beige for camo, they click with their tongues to talk, and some can talk like the gatekeeper of the hidden underground library of magic arts. - - - Otherwise the trail was faily calm, that was until mama saurus decided we got too close to her nest as she stood her mighty size instilled a touch of fear in our souls knowing this wooden sand raft is no match for something the size of a mountain. Thankfully she decided we were not worth the chase however we are still shaken up. We had stopped inside the dark, eerily ominous storage bay underneath the library of Bibilonia, already peculiar because the hanger usually lights up on its own wing the same idea as firebugs but with a glass enclosure. Making their way forward, they realized the main catacomb door was stuck in between closing and opening, exposed wires sent sparks flying through the dark smokey environment. Well, that explains the lights the team examined carefully... With only red emergency lights as a guide, they looked at each other to confirm this was not a hallucination. Forward they infiltrated into the main chamber hoping to find the Zealian Prince and not a hungry mountain bear. As for the hope of finding the zealion prince, it is due to the letter we received from the courier a couple of days ago. The man mysteriously disappeared from the frost community seven days ago, without a word to his staff or his people, witnesses were suspiciously null except for the general direction a farmer saw the man sprinting on foot. Since they refused to come to fetch their straggler, we decided to take it with Bibilonian law, which states all trespassers will be subject to beheading. The itch tugged at me, the man who resided in the chamber of medicine, - - - must be ill - - - King Mar of the vast lands alongside Volt pondered as he entered a great sword drawn from its massive sheath on his back. Sandy did her job of protecting Scott, Finding the intruder injured, breathing like a heffer above him, he chuckled before entering fully knowing the man was ready to pounce. Once he did, he chuckled softly, dropping to the floor gracefully. "Ahh, it is thy Volt returning to remove me hmm?", "You have no idea what you have caused by disgracing this holy place you buffoon, your black aura has misguided you, brother. A sorry puppet I should have put to the sword years before now." The burly 6'5 Inhuman with arms the size of the average thigh, removed the Zealion head, restoring sacred order, this man, like other Zelions. Was a cyborg spurring from a failed robotics program that was proposed as a solution to the short-staffed mining workforce. When they continually failed, the project and its remnants were abandoned by the Niggles, a species of humans that resided in the frosty tundra until their coal mines could not produce due to a toxic gas only bionic creatures could survive presumed to have been caused by breaching a pocket of bad air. Since the Zealion program was a hostile failure, Niggle King Doohm was almost attacked by one of the angry creatures as he bailed out of the underground, leaving a few Niggle stragglers as he locked the bulkhead, sealing everything below. Meanwhile... "Thank you Master Volt. I could not reason with him..`` The Earth mage apologized. "It is quite alright do not sweat it young Scholarly Earth mage, he will be a tick no longer.`` As he zipped away hastily equipped with magical aura canisters using leather straps to attach the propulsion to his body, a daring test run of a design by Scott, who had been working on a coal alternative since he got ready. Faster and cleaner than past fossil fuels that grappled humanity to dust nor were they quite as effective but humanity had to learn this, Scott replied to the nightmare he keeps having where we cannot breathe well leading him to believe this is his warning to fully commercialize the usage of his alternative. The events that transpired when Volt went to secure the library have everyone dazed. Scott tried to think of what Volt activated when he tried to destroy that robot. Scott investigated what the Niggles knew about any protection-related spell, removing the flat rock covering the habitat that was built for the Niggle colony when they were evicted from their village. It is a tight space with barely enough room for Scott to wiggle through until he reaches the main door leading into the in-progress city they are building among the underground aquifers reaches the design looked similar to Bibilonia except they have advanced building techniques that have allowed taller and more sophisticated buildings. A tiny but mighty group thriving in their newfound sanctuary. Scott’s brain whirled as he waited for their king. Finally, he could feel himself shrinking which the first time scared the crap out of him because you go from big, to the size of a medium garden gnome. As with most the end is worth it because there is more to these fellas than meets the eye. This is all they said before walking me back outside perfectly timed for the shirked effect which wears off quickly, Volt looped time and time not realizing he was stuck in a time loop and unable to pass on so he relives his last 24 hours on a replay. He executed the cyborg causing an explosion of unknown cause except for perhaps protection magic. Nonetheless, the library was critical, all inhabitants had to be evacuated from the desert library as it began to crumble from the ripples of the explosion, except not all made it out. In saying all but one survived. That one was King Mar himself. Now he remains as a statue outside the remodeled library with a plaque stating --- In memory of King Mar IV we rebuilt the library of magic arts using his vast intellectual mind, and redesigned tabloids for reading and AR spells for casting experience. --- I'd say that sums up the journey for now Hew, sleep tight as you've got big boots to fill someday. Our family has dutifully defended Bibilonia from both foreign and domestic threats alike, the life you live is due to the numerous generations of royal lances just like you. Scott finished tucking him underneath the covers, switching the light off, and exiting the room with a slight click of the door. Into family room to the upside Bibilonian apartment where Scott sat back in his chair delving back into the tomes for another round, something struck him however there is a few pages missing between what the table of contents says was the underground library. The story that king volt told about him stashing certain part of the history in the underground chest below the library before the rest was built around it.
