Barrett's POV
When I woke up in the morning, I turned onto my side, wanting to hug Jane, but I realised, sadly, that she was nowhere to be found. I wasn’t sure why I thought she would stay with me the entire night; it was always like this. She got up early, making sure I sensed nothing and then left to prepare for the Alpha’s awakening.
That day, I didn’t want to get out of bed, but duty called, so I reluctantly got up. After getting dressed, I was ready to head down for breakfast. However, since it was still quite early, I decided to find Andreas and talk to him instead. I walked downstairs, guessing where I might find him, and there he was, in the barn, getting the carriage ready to go to the peasants.
