We walked together in silence until we arrived at the guest suite where Rose lived. She must have mindlinked with her because the door opened as soon as we stopped in front of it.
Rose's delicate face lit up when she saw me, and she nodded. "Nice to see you, Alpha," she said with a small smile as I offered her my arm.
"I heard you were out last night," she began as I led her to the dining room.
"My wolf wanted to spend the night out. Sometimes, he feels bad staying indoors. I know it's unusual, but I like to keep him happy."
I lied, but it made Rose smile wider.
"Well, next time, if your wolf doesn't mind company, my wolf feels the same way sometimes." Her comment only annoyed me; it meant I could hardly be alone from now on.
