Barrett's POV
When I said goodbye to my mum, I was uncertain about the outcome. Corinna looked much more ill than I had anticipated. Even though my mum was positive, I wasn't sure if she would survive.
I rushed back to the castle, hoping no one would notice my absence, as sneaking out was risky. My mother had hidden Corinna, and if Morgana or Rose found out, it could lead to serious consequences.
I quickly put on my robe after transforming and hurried back to my room. Just as I was pouring myself a cup of wine, I heard a knock at the door. I frowned, hoping it was Jane missing me. However, when I opened the door, I met the Alpha's furious gaze.
"Where have you been, Barrett?" he demanded, pushing the door open. My heartbeat quickened, but I pretended to be calm.
