Chapter 8

"Well guys here are good at bullying..." 

That's all was needed to send my heart to beating infinity time person second. My heart as well as my head became a pumping mess. s**t.

I turned and looked straight to her face but she seemed unaffected and continued walking as I'd nothing happened.

"Don't look at me like that, okay. That's a story for another time, in the dining room probably that's where I'll be able to show you all of them. I mean bullying groups" I like her voice or let's say her accent. Mexican english.

"As much as I hate what you are talking about, I really like your voice. I mean accent" I said making her blush.

"That's odd but thanks." She said as we reached the base of the endless stairs that seemed like they reached to heaven. After a couple of minutes of ascending the stairs, taking a right turn every now and then, we reached level six sweat dripping straight from my forehead, heart about to beat itself out of my chest and legs shaking like those of a worn out chair. 

"That's normal, you'll  get used to it soon" Mia said snapping my attention to her again. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how relaxed she was as if ascending the stairs didn't just happen.

"That just happened" I said still trying to catch my breath.

"Yes it did, and we still have to reach your room before dinner time." She said as she took the left turn and moved straight passing a between two rows of uncountable closed doors while all I did was run behind her trying to keep track of her steps which was quite a job since she was moving on a speed I couldn't master up to at the moment.

"This is your room. Rephrase, I meant our room" she said as she took a stop at the second room on the left from the end of the hallway.

She took out the keys to the room and opened the room wide enough for both of us to enter at once. She went straight to her bed while I stood taking in what my new home looks like.

A floor to ceiling window that gave us a clear view of the backyard which consisted of  well guarded gardens, I took a few over a minute just admiring the gardens.

"Who does the gardens again?" I asked my eyes never leaving them.

"Us" she said in a sleepy tone.

"You know we have to take dinner in a few minutes to come. You don't have time to sleep" I said as I turned take in the rest of the room.

Hard wooden floor, medium sized bed with a small bed desk, full length mirror, and two desks that faced the window. Her desk was already filled with books and paper and a computer.

"Wow, you guys are allowed to have a computer at your pack?" I asked in awe.

''No I got this one from here, yours is in the closet" like what? I now own a computer?

I ran straight to the closet and opening it there laid my new surprise. The closet was stocked to full. Dresses, jeans, t_shirts, skirts, shoes of all types and a box sitting down in the middle of the closet. I worked straight to it and ripped it open to reveal yet another surprise. In the box I found a computer, a watch, and ID card holder four extra pairs of uniform and three pairs of uniform shoes, earphone and to wrap it up a phone! I have a phone guys! Finally! Phew...

" I don't have any numbers. What's the use if this phone?" I shouted so that Mia would hear me inspite of the clothes blocking the sound.

"Believe me the contact list is already full. " she shouted and I switched the phone on and she was right contacts of fifteen people that made up the administration and the staff we work closely to, and your roommate's number and neighbors.

"Hi, what's your name please" a message came in.as I was exiting the closet and walking to my bed.

"Hello, I'm Ava" I typed back. Before groaning in frustration that I have to introduce myself a lot today or let's say these days.

"The system greeting you already?" Mia asked sitting up.

"What do you mean?" 

"Well the system gets a signal when a phone is switched on so they ask about you, so that they can feel in your identity and give you an ID card." My be that's it.

And just like that's I spent the next five minutes answering questions like which pack am I from which was a confusing question really. And my parents which was a though topic and some funny questions like what's the one thing I brought here, since we are allowed to enter with just one thing which was a necklace for my case. Finally the system told me that my ID will be ready after dinner.

" hey, won't we need these dive minutes to settle in the dining room? Let's leave now" I said as I closed the closet and put on a purple uniform sweater.

"Where do you think you're going" she asked me as I headed to the door.

"Dining room. Level four" I said.

"Hear me out clearly. Now that you are registered, you should wear your watch, take your ID card holder.and your phone everywhere you go" she said and I walked back to the closet and take everything she said before following her down the stairs to the dining room.

There was a seriously long line ready to be served and we took plates and took our places, I could smell the teasing smell of chips. There was steak, rice, chips and potatoes as a side option.

As soon as we were served we walked to the back corner, let me call it a trip because it took as almost a minute to reach there.

"Well now that we are settled, will you tell me about the bullying?" I told Mia before taking the first bite of my fist meal and believe me it was heavenly.

"Okay, just tell me that you'll have to obey everything that I tell you all else I will have to use my poor first aid skills on you" 

"I promise" maybe she's making this a little more serious.

"Okay we are at the bottom of the food chain..." she started

"And what do you mean by we?" I asked taking a spoonful of rice.

" me, you and all the people that are sitting in the corner isolated from the rest other groups" she said while I looked across the room to see a few people scattered in the corner  and  three large groups.

"We are the grasses, just like every food chain, they are the rabbits they feed directly from us" she said pointing towards a group occupying the rest side of the room. " they are the dogs they feed from the rabbits" she said pointing at the group in the right side of the room."and they are the vultures, they feed from the dogs, they are drug dealers and they are dangerous" the pointed at the ones in the middle.

"Of all, obey the rabbits, they are the ones that bully us directly" she said in firm of a warning.

"Hey pretty ass there" a masculine voice said from our left and we turned to face the source.

"My leader wants to talk to you" he said with a smug look on his face.

"Tell him I'm not coming" I firmly replied. These groups were total bullshit. 

"I wasn't requesting newbie. Just informing" he said before picking me up and throwing me on his shoulders and carrying me to the so called boss.
