WHAT IS THE RELATION

 Marcus’s P.O.V.

I was shocked to hear Theo’s question. Why had he interested in Maggi’s transfer. This transfer was requested by our former CEO aka Theo’s father.  It was also strange because she was just an intern then. It all happened 1 year ago when Theo completed his training under his father and took over the CEO position.

I looked between two of them. Maggi had her eyes lowered like every time she had to interact with him. I wondered why she was like this in front of him. She was a confident girl and knew her work better than anyone else.

Theo had fixed his gaze on her and was looking at her without blinking.

“My major was finance in the college and I have degree majoring in finance. I applied in both the departments but joined as PR intern as there was no vacant seat in Finance department then. As soon as I came to know about vacancy in Finance department, I requested for my transfer and accepted”, she answered straightly in a polite manner.

Theo straightened his back and crossed his palms on the table. He was still looking towards her.

“Is there any way you know my father?” he asked her and she snapped her head towards him in shock. Their eyes met and I saw confusion on Theo’s face.

“I….. I know him but not so closely. My father and Sir are friends from college”, she stuttered a little and now it was my turn to be shocked. Why was she lying? Her parents died 8 years ago and as per my knowledge, she was not so rich to be friend with Turners.

Maggi lowered her eyes again. I really wanted to know why she always lowered her eyes in front of him. He also lowered her gaze to his hands on the table.

Both were silent. There was an uncomfortable silence in the room.

I cleared my throat to gain some of his attention. He looked towards me. “I think, we must talk with the companies from where we don’t get the rest payment. They must have some solid reason for delaying the payment”, I stated the matter of fact.

He again lowered his gaze to his hands in a thoughtful manner. I signaled Maggi to sit down as she was still standing. She nodded and sat down but she was looking like out of the world right now. She was sad.

“What did the recovery department stated about their delays?” he questioned me again and I looked at him.

“Casper & Sons has ensured to make the rest payment in full by next Monday as they also waiting for the payment from the third party. Their amount is approximate 15 million. The next company Justin Ltd. Has to pay approximate 35 million but they requested to part this payment in 3 again and we have to still discuss this with operations and recovery as we received their request yesterday evening. It was an inappropriate request for the company like them. They also troubled us with payments during the whole project”, I paused for a moment to catch my breath.

“Handle me their file. I want to look in this matter. We will discuss about them later”, Theo asked me and I nodded and looked at Maggi. She noted down this. She was good in her work and knew what to note during these kinds of meetings.

“What about the third company?”  He asked me again and I sighed.

“They were troubling a lot. In total they have to pay 48 million approx. but they are troubling us a lot. They are not picking up our calls and not replying our mails also. This is Fisher Enterprises. I want to talk to you about them also”, I told him everything we were facing these days.

“Bring the details of last 2 companies in my cabin post lunch”, he said to me and I nodded.

“Maggi”, he called her and she stumbled a little on her seat in panic but didn’t lift her face up.

He sighed and said to her again, “I want you to look for the amount we require for our new project. We can’t wait till next week. It must start by end of the next week. You will direct report me in this project”. She nodded with yes.

 “I am calling off this meeting now but we need to have discuss various things”, He said while standing up from his seat and we all stood up with him. He dismissed us and went out from the room. I looked at Maggi and she seemed relaxed than before.

“What is it Maggi that is bothering you so much?” I asked her in a fatherly tone. She was really a sweet girl and I couldn’t see her sad.

“There is nothing to be worry, Marcus. I am fine”, she tried to assure me with a small smile but that didn’t reach to her eyes.

“Girl, you know you are like my daughter. Whenever you feel, I am here for you always”, I said to her while patting to her head. She nodded with teary eyes. I instantly gave her side hug. What was wrong with her today? I was sure that her present state had some relation with earlier conversation with Theo about her relation with his father.

We both headed towards our department. There was a lot of work that we had to complete before lunch so that I could gave Theo all information what he needed before talking with other departments or else with company personnel about payment with last two companies.

Maggi had to find out the way to get the finance for upcoming project. We were lacking from 20 million but I knew that she would find a way to get the finance.

Maggi’s P.O.V.

I was still shocked. He questioned me about my relation with his father. I sensed a kind of accusation in his voice that I didn’t like at all. Was he thinking something off about my relation with Dad? Instantly  my forehead straightened what came into my mind. He was impossible…. Really… really…. Impossible. How could he think anything like this for us? Either he was out of his mind or went insane.

“Maggi”, I flinched when someone shacked my chair and shouted my name.

“What, Marcus”, I asked him while resting my hand on my chest. He scared me.

“Where are you today, dear? I was calling you from last 2 minutes but you were not responding”, he said annoyingly and I felt guilty.

“I am sorry. I just zoned out. Tell me what are you saying”, I apologized him and asked him.

“I want your help in completing all the information of these companies I need to discuss with Theo post lunch”, he requested me politely and I smiled.

“Got you boss. Give me 1 hr max”, I winked and he laughed a little.

But before he could say anything, his phone rang at the desk and he picked up.

“Yes Sir?” it was Theo on the other line. Now what he wanted from us?
