Chapter Two: Accepting and Planning

Step by step, Olivia tiptoed slowly down the stairs, one step after the other, carefully choosing her next course of action. No, she wasn’t trying to be quiet. She wasn’t trying to not wake her man, either. Oh, how she had wished in that moment that being quiet had been the case. But no, Olivia had a more serious task at hand. For each step down the stairs was more painful than the next. Halfway through the flight of stairs, Olivia found herself in despair. She looked up, wondering if heading back up was instead, her best option. She had gone down fewer stairs than she’d have to continue if she turned around. She didn’t need to eat today, right? She didn’t need to do anything important. She could have survived by heading back up and not going down again for a couple of days. That was logical. Olivia also contemplated hoisting her leg over the railing and sliding down the rest of the way. That would have made the process quicker, but almost undoubtedly more painful. She knew that she had to scratch that idea, too. Olivia thought back again to the evening before. It was certainly memorable. One she would have liked to forget now. She had been right, though, unfortunately... it was now the next day and it had been excruciating for Olivia to walk properly. The pure size of her husband's manhood the day before, entering her v****a without lube, caused her lady parts to pulsate with every ounce of her being. Olivia stepped down slowly to the last step in the staircase landing. This was a slightly higher step than the rest. The cold wood could be felt in her toes as the increased pain shot all the way up through rear. “f**k!” There was absolutely no way she would even attempt an invasive bathroom ordeal today, she knew. That was not an option. Nope, instead, Olivia made her way to the refrigerator and found herself filling up on everything that would possibly bind her bowels up for days. It was good that Olivia hadn’t actually tried to keep quiet that morning because the moan that accompanied her every step down the stairs had also successfully awoken her man. He was no physically able to see..or, should I say, hear, the remnants of his unit. Brian, however, was not about to address the obvious elephant in the room. "Are you eating for two, Liv," he went up behind his wife, who was shoving her face full of cheese? He squeezed her waist tightly and chuckled at the amount of food she had been consuming. "You wish," she joked back! "I do wish," he sighed and put his head down. He really did. The joke seemed to backfire. Olivia picked up quickly that her husband was struggling with their conversation the day before. By no means did she want to put him through any hurt and I n no way does she want her man touching another woman beside her either, but knowing that it would hired help made her feel better. He wouldn’t be out seeking s*x for pleasure out of lust. No way would that happen. Her man knew that she was the best that there ever would be. She was confident in knowing that. So, he should be able to do this for her now if she, herself, could make this sacrifice for their family. It was a sacrifice, indeed! "It's going to be okay, you know that right," Olivia lifted his chin to reassure her man. "Do you trust me?" Brian sighed, "You know I do, Liv. But..” "Good. That’s all we need is trust. Then we agree it is what's best for our family," she squinted with anticipation for his response, completely having disregarded his obvious objection to the matter at hand. But he wasn’t giving up without further discussion. "I just... don't know," he sighed. "I love you. You are my wife.” She stared at him in utter confusion that he still needed to discuss this matter further. “I've never cheated before...I don't think I could go through with it!” “It’s not..” It feels like cheating, Liv!” "It's not cheating, Babe. I am allowing you to do what needs to be done.” He now shook his head back and forth, still with objections. “It is the only way we can have a family, you know that," she made it known bluntly! Olivia now gave her husband the authoritative stare down that usually worked with him. "But can't you at least consider...?” He was cut off again by her. Olivia placed her hands now firmly on her hips and stood up straight. She needed to put an end to this! She took a deep breath. She knew the next statement would be a blow to him, but he wasn’t getting it. “No, Brian! I won't consider having a baby for you! I won't consider adoption, and I won't consider going to an agency to find a surrogate. I'm sorry, Brian...I know that is what you want...but I just can't," she flipped a switch and found herself hollering at him! Brian, not shocked by her actions, as he had seen her convictions in the past, stood there and listened to the mouth diarrhea that his classy, elegant, beautiful wife had been spewing at him. It was if all her pent up aggression was being taken out in this one moment. But that was the way Olivia dealt with conflict when someone disagreed with her. He knew that. He was unfortunately used to it. It was a side of her that was less appealing. But..he loved her, so he dealt with the bad that came with the good. For better or worse..this was the worst! Olivia stormed off and made her way down to the bathroom. There, she sat and began to sob. She felt absolutely horrible that she had gone off on Brian that way. She grabbed a tissue and leaned over the marble sink. She didn’t recognize the woman in the mirror. The beast she saw was not whom she wanted to be. She knew he didn’t deserve it. But he just wouldn’t trust that she knew what was best for their family. He brought this out in her. It was his fault. “Why can’t he just learn to leave things well enough alone,” she pondered? Wiping her tears, Olivia began to think about her nightmares growing up. As she sat there and envisioned herself in the bathroom of her parent's home, she would have now been standing in front of a full length mirror. As she looked down, she had a huge belly. She was pregnant! For a second, she was excited at the thought of being pregnant. She began to rub her belly. She had created a life. That was the utmost powerful thing someone could do, and she had done it! Just then, her initial excitement shifted. Olivia turned her body to the side to view her baby bump profile. She sighed and shrugged her nose ever so slightly at the sight. This disgusted her. She hated the way she looked. She was as big as a house. She would never be thin again, she thought. She would never be pretty again. No man would want her. "Bang! Bang! Bang!," Olivia startled, began to awaken from her past nightmares. Thank god it was just a nightmare. It wasn’t real. She was still in control of her body, of her life, and her husband. In that moment, she didn’t feel in control of anything, if she were honest. She needed to regain control over her husband. She was the boss, after all. He had always caved towards her. "Let me in, Liv," Brian tapped on the door gently now. She braced her body to regain her composure and wiped away the tears that formed. She looked in the mirror and rubbed her belly slightly, pushing aside the material to see the skin below. She was still thin and beautiful. She did now have puffy eyes from the tears that she had shed, but those would go away, thankfully. She took her hands and purposefully smoothed down a loose strand of hair that left its place, while tucking the rest behind her ears. “This is as good as it gets,” she took one last glance at herself. Olivia unlocked the door and stared Brian in the face. She could tell that he was feeling bad for angering her just by his look. She knew Brian hated nothing more than to upset her. Still, she needed to give a little, to get a lot. "I'm sorry," she added. "I just can't...," she was now interrupted by him pulling her closer towards his chest. "Agreed," he pulled her in for a kiss. "It's okay, Liv...I agree," he whispered. ......................... That evening as Brian and Olivia lye in bed and read together, side by side, he with his hunting and fishing magazine, and she with her romance novel, Olivia’s thoughts again began to wander away from the pages. She wondered if her future children would forgive her if they ever found out that she wasn’t their birth Mother. She wondered if they would resent her. She wondered if she herself would feel less connected to them. Truthfully, she had nothing to compare it to. Olivia was taken back to a time when she found out about Anastasia being her birth mother. Even though she was hurt that she had been lied to her whole life, Olivia had to admit that she was more upset that she had a Maid for a Mother. Surely she liked Anastasia, but as her blood, that was hard to swallow. Olivia always had felt that she was somewhat better than those less fortunate than herself. But now, was she less fortunate? Was she the people that she once looked down upon? Would she be teased in school if others found out? These were the questions that young Olivia had been processing that day, the day her life changed forever. That was a lot for any child to have to deal with. It was no doubt why Olivia rebelled a little. Olivia crept down the marble hallway and ever so slightly peeked into the spare bedroom suite that Anastasia had now been occupying in her parent’s Mansion. As she squinted one eye, and looked with the other, Olivia could see Anastasia lying on the big bed. She was surrounded by luxurious pillows and covered slightly with the silk comforter. Olivia thought that Anastasia appeared to be napping. She didn’t want to wake her, so she ever so slightly pushed the door open bit by bit, until it was opened enough to tip toe in. Once inside, Olivia stood at the foot board of the bed and stared at the woman before her. She was beautiful! That was something Olivia had never really noticed. Or maybe she did but didn’t give much thought to given the role that she was in. Olivia thought about her own Mother, or the woman she thought was her mother. She was average looking. There was nothing overly beautiful about her except for her fashion. The same with her father. Olivia decided that she must get her looks from Anastasia. She should be more grateful to her. Olivia concluded that this was the silver lining to the situation that she found herself in. Anastasia awoke from her sleep and found Olivia staring at her intently. She sat up slowly to get a better look at the child, the child who was the spitting image of herself. She then reached out her hand to grab for Olivia’s. Even though she was weak, the thought of holding her baby made the extra effort so worth it. Olivia could see that Anastasia was frail and weak compared to how she normally was. Still, Olivia didn’t reach back. Instead, she just stared at Anastasia, who eventually lied back down, still staring at her child. Anastasia now knew that all the kids were aware of the truth. She wanted desperately to say something to Olivia in that moment, but could see that Olivia was not ready for the olive branch just yet. “What are you thinking,” Anastasia asked? Olivia wasn’t fully sure how to answer that. She was thinking so much but couldn’t relay anything. Finally, Olivia walked closer to Anastasia and stared at her closer. Anastasia too locked eyes back with the child and gave her a warm smile. But Olivia didn’t smile back. For what she was thinking was nothing to smile about. Anastasia was the help, but for 9 months, 9 whole long months, Anastasia had full control over her. Olivia didn’t like that. It won’t happen again. Olivia decided from there on that she will always be in control of herself, even if she was a child. She turned and faced the door and walked back out, the same as she had come in. ——————————— Brian and Olivia had now been settled in their home for almost two weeks. They seemed to have fully gotten over the harsh words exchanged. It was as if it had never happened. Brian was good at forgiving and forgetting. He didn’t hold grudges. Maine had been treating them quite well. Brian felt so at peace in the fresh ocean air, that even a bad day was still a decent day. True, Boston did have the same ocean at hand, but it just wasn't the same. Maine was his home, and there was no place like it for him. Brian felt himself come alive in Maine. He felt rejuvinated, if you will. Olivia on the other hand was just excited to be able to grow her career, and although Maine wasn't what she had always envisioned, it made her husband happy, so she was okay with that compromise...for a while, at least. They could always move again someday. She never saw herself staying in Maine forever. It wasn't exactly her style. She was a city girl. She was used to luxury and pampering. She was used to a full staff therr to help with anything she could imagine. She never wanted for anything in Boston or growing up. But she was a new woman now. She was an entrepreneur and a wife. Olivia was content with the slower paced life here for now or until she was able to become fully established. For now, she would focus on work. They had worked hard to create an office space for Brian to do his marketing work in the home and another office in the guest house for Olivia to start her therapy practice. Olivia was excited for her own space. Having an office in the main house just felt too informal. Olivia wanted to be respectable in the community. She wanted her privacy for her patients and to not have to hear the cries of a future baby when she was working. That may work for Brian, but definitely not for Olivia. The guest house was all hers. For now, at least! In the guest house, there was a kitchenette, bathroom, and a bedroom for them to host their future Nanny/Housekeeper/Mistress/Baby Mama! This person would clearly have the longest official title in the world! So Olivia swore to just call her the help! Brian's first marketing task, other than his 9-5 standard job duties, included helping his wife get her practice up and running. He started by creating a website for her, a Linkedin, f*******:, and an Instapage. He also helped her brand new business cards and flyers to post at local businesses around town. However, because York Beach was a touristy town, and it was now mid fall, not a lot of businesses were open during this season. This definitely posted a challenge for a new entrepreneur. Olivia didn't mind, though. She was okay starting small. Thankfully, she was, however, able to use her in-laws connections at the library and real estate office in York. Just posting there, Olivia received 3 clients within her first two weeks. Still though, Olivia found that with her low customer base, she had a lot of spare time on her hands. There wasn't much else to focus on in Maine in the fall. She wasn't what you would call outdoorsy. She actually hated being cold. So, with nothing but a few customers to focus on, she decided that it was the perfect time to start looking for and focusing on "the help." The task of recruiting, though would prove to be somewhat challenging for Olivia since she didn't want people to know that she was actively pursuing someone to have s*x with her husband. You can't really post that in a job advertisement, now can you? So, instead, what Olivia did was create adds, both online and in the local paper, for a Housekeeper/Nanny. She would explain the fine print to them later. Olivia hired a third party to screen candidates for her that applied to her posting. In addition to childcare and cleaning experience, applicants had to be screened on their marital status, health, appearance, and age (basically all the typical things that you shouldn't discriminate against). However, Olivia was fully aware that these people were meant to help her start a family, so those factors were of the utmost importance to her. Then, if the candidates passed the "Nanny/Housekeeper" portion of the screenings, the third party had them sign NDA's before they were referred to Olivia for the next round of interviews. It was a unique process, but Olivia felt optimistic. She wouldn't accept just anyone to perform such a big role in her life. This person had to have good genes, be attractive, be smart, have a strong work ethic, and be obedient. Obedience for Olivia was a must. She was aware that she could be overbearing at times. She had been told that by him a time or two. Brian got used to it. He had no choice. She wasn't going to change for anyone. This person would have to get used to it as well! Olivia wouldn't let anyone else run her household. That was her job. This person will definitely need to learn that Olivia called all of the shots. So, Olivia felt even more compelled to hand select her husband's Baby Mama. This woman will need to know her place and needs to know that she is disposable to this household if she ever crosses me, Olivia thought. Finding someone who met Olivia's standards would be tough. She knew she wouldn't find any rocket science nannies in little old York Beach Maine, but she would give it her best to find the creme of the crop. Money was not really an object of concern. She would pay for quality help. Nothing was too good or too expensive for Olivia in her eyes. She had an innate knack for all things top quality. She nabbed Brian, no less. Brian may not come from a super wealthy family like Olivia, but Olivia saw Brian for the prince that he was. Brian was her dream man. He was any woman's dreamman. Sure, he had a few annoying quirks, Olivia knew. But who didn't honestly? There were no deal breakers or red flags with Brian that Olivia ever saw. She knew that the thought of losing him would be absolutely devastating for her. He was the perfect man. So, Olivia knew that in order to make her marriage last, she had to be the best wife that she could be. She always strived for perfection. Whether it be the perfect outfit, the perfect flowers for the dinner table, the perfect haircut, everything had to be perfect. So when searching for someone to host her child, she expected nothing less.
