Isabella’s pov When Clara spoke up, the man tugged her away into the darkness. “Lower your tone,” he hissed. I remained behind one of the stone pillars at the entrance to the corridor, trying to take deep breaths slowly. My heart was beating so much that I could feel it pounding against my chest. Clara was very frightened. Not the frighten face she put on at council meetings.
