I had watched my mate interact with her child. I understood her reservations on allowing Hannah to turn. However, I was surprised that Frankie shut her down so harshly. As Frankie and Hannah both stormed out of the dining room, the entire family sat in stunned silence. Lisa was quietly serving the meal and put out plates for both Frankie and Hannah.
"Charlie, please bring this to Hannah and take a soda with you." Lisa instructed quietly.
She turned to Xander and myself. "Would either of you bring this to Frankie?"
I stood and put a hand on Xanders shoulder, indicating he should eat, and I would ensure our mate was OK. I hoped he understood the quiet message that I wanted to sit with her alone. His glance at me told me he understood my request and slid the plate to me.
