Despite the unpromising name, the business awards in the first week of June is always a promising night out. I’ve attended for the last three years, either as a guest or a client, or on my company’s table. I will be the first to admit that it doesn’t sound exciting. Okay so the award ceremony itself is a little lacklustre, but by the time the ‘networking opportunities’ begin, people are so drunk that they struggle to stand up straight, never mind try to win their next big contract. It’s usually rather entertaining.
