The realization hit me like a bolt of lightning, letting me know I had fallen right into his trap. Was he in this together with Vincenzo? Does Vincenzo know who I really am and is only just pretending? As I thought about this possibilities, it felt like a knife was stuck in my throat.
“Bingo!” Giovanni laughed as he rose to his feet, taking slow steps towards me. I moved backwards in fear, staggering in my steps while wondering how and where I went wrong.
“W…what are you trying to do?” I stammered in fear, my eyebrows wavering, my feet wobbly as I tried to keep a calm front but I knew I had been seen-through by Giovanni.
