The Man Behind the War ‎ ‎Marco was gone. ‎ ‎His phone was switched off. ‎ ‎His apartment was empty. ‎ ‎Lia and Matteo found his car abandoned outside an old warehouse. ‎ ‎Inside, they discovered more evidence. ‎ ‎Documents connecting Marco to Adrian. ‎ ‎Lia felt betrayed. ‎ ‎"He was family." ‎ ‎Matteo looked at her. ‎ ‎"Adrian wanted someone inside the Morettis." ‎ ‎"Why Marco?" ‎ ‎"Because he wanted the family divided." ‎ ‎A sound came from behind them. ‎ ‎Marco stepped into the room. ‎ ‎Lia turned. ‎ ‎"Why?" ‎ ‎Marco looked exhausted. ‎ ‎"I didn't know what Adrian was planning." ‎ ‎"You helped him." ‎ ‎"I thought he was helping us." ‎ ‎"By destroying our family?" ‎ ‎Marco lowered his head. ‎ ‎"He promised me the Moretti empire." ‎ ‎Lia stared at him. ‎ ‎"So you betrayed my father." ‎ ‎"I didn't know he'd die." ‎ ‎Matteo stepped forward. ‎ ‎"Where is Adrian?" ‎ ‎Marco shook his head. ‎ ‎"I don't know." ‎ ‎"You're lying." ‎ ‎"I'm not." ‎ ‎Marco suddenly looked terrified. ‎ ‎"He knows I talked to you." ‎ ‎A car engine sounded outside. ‎ ‎Marco's face went pale. ‎ ‎"He's here." ‎ ‎The warehouse doors opened. ‎ ‎Adrian entered. ‎ ‎He looked at Marco. ‎ ‎"You disappoint me." ‎ ‎Marco stepped backward. ‎ ‎Adrian turned to Lia. ‎ ‎"You've done well." ‎ ‎Lia stared at him. ‎ ‎"Why did you destroy our families?" ‎ ‎"Because power belongs to whoever knows how to use fear." ‎ ‎"And my father?" ‎ ‎"Your father believed truth was more powerful." ‎ ‎Adrian smiled. ‎ ‎"He was wrong." ‎
