Mireya's POV
A sharp wail tore through the air as the healer clutched her mother in her arms, tears dripping down her face.
“Please don't leave me!” She pleaded, her voice going hoarse.
I blinked back tears at the sight before me, my heart pinching in pain.
“Why didn't you tell me it isn't compatible with our kind?” I questioned Voldik.
Silence met my question, making me frown. Was Voldik ignoring me?
Two things happened then, the healer's mother gasped in breath at the same time she started sweating out.
The sweat wasn't normal, it had a viscosity to its look. It looked like…slime.
“Thank goddess” I muttered out, as the woman touched her daughter’s cheeks drawing her into her arms.
