Bobby’s POV
I never thought one breakfast would stir up all kinds of emotions in Haven without me by her side, but it certainly did, and I felt every one of them through our mate bond. First there was amusement, when I came up behind her, and she was asking where her handsome boyfriend was. I’m not sure what amused her, but something did. My guess is she finally saw me doing something I had avoided for the past two weeks: the duty roster.
When I was given the coffee pot to refill, her emotions quickly changed to shock. I did turn to see what was going on when I reached the kitchen door, but I couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary. Whatever was said amongst them, I will have to find out later.
