Chapter five: A Second Encounter

552 Words
(Elena's POV ) The elevator doors slid shut with a soft, final click, and in that moment, I realized exactly what I’d agreed to. One night. No names. No strings. I told myself it was harmless. That I could walk away in the morning like it had never happened. But standing there, watching him lean casually against the mirrored wall as though he already owned me, I knew I was lying to myself. His presence was suffocating in the best possible way. He didn’t have to touch me to make me feel trapped, claimed. His eyes alone pinned me in place, gray and unyielding, as if they were cataloging every weakness I had, every secret I thought I’d hidden. “You’re nervous,” he said, voice low, smooth as smoke. “I’m not.” My chin tilted up, too fast, too defensive. The smirk that tugged at his lips told me I’d only confirmed it. “Liar.” I wanted to snap back, to bite with my sharpest retort. But then he stepped closer slowly, deliberately until his body caged me against the mirrored wall. His hand didn’t touch me, not yet, but hovered an inch from my hip, close enough that I could feel the heat radiating off him. My breath hitched, loud in the small space. “What are you doing?” I whispered. “Testing limits.” His words ghosted against my ear, his breath warm, intoxicating. “Yours. His eyes locked on mine, daring me. “Say the word, and I’ll let you go. But if you don’t…” The space between us evaporated. His mouth brushed mine not a kiss, just the cruelest tease, a whisper of contact that left me trembling. “…then you’re mine. Tonight.” The word burned in my throat. Stop. It was right there, easy, safe. I should’ve said it. Instead, I whispered, “Don’t.” That was all the permission he needed. His mouth claimed mine in a kiss that was nothing like the fumbling, sweet ones I’d known before. This was raw, consuming, a brand that seared straight to my bones. His hand slid to my jaw, tilting my face up, holding me in place as though he’d never allow me to escape again. By the time the elevator chimed and the doors opened, I was already undone. He pulled back just enough to meet my eyes, his thumb brushing across my bottom lip. “Good girl.” And then he led me out into a suite that was nothing like I expected. Floor-to-ceiling windows revealed the glittering skyline, but the space itself was dark, intimate, drenched in shadows and warm amber light. Black leather, steel, glass. Power in every angle. I turned in a slow circle, my breath shallow. “This… is yours?” “It’s mine,” he said simply. Then, after a beat, he added, “And tonight, so are you.” Before I could answer, he closed the distance again, pressing me back against the nearest wall, his mouth on mine, his hand skimming down my thigh, lifting my dress higher and higher until
