Chapter 3 Rejection

CATHY'S POV
"Don't worry, You won't go without her," My mother said, assuring her.
I looked at her with widened eyes and opened my mouth to explain things but she furiously waved at hands
"You don't need to give me any silly excuses, Cathy. You are going and you simply don't have a choice!" Our mother yelled at me and my heart sank.
I shook my head as my eyes became teary "This is wrong, Mum. Those boys threatened to kill me if they saw me tonight. Do you want me to die that much?" I could no longer take it.
My mother's expression changed as she looked at Dinah for confirmation.
Dinah shook her head "Do you believe that the twins would do that to her? You shouldn't believe her lies, Mum!" She cried. "You have to make her follow me or others will bully me at the party!"
I looked at the two and rolled my eyes "I'm not going and that's final, Mum!" I took my stance and walked into the house, leaving them there but no one called after me.
They knew I had no backbone.
The party came as fast as it could be. It was like a blink of an eye when the days came to an end faster than I could have wanted.
I looked at my dresses, they were all pretty and I would have felt proud to wear them to parties. With my beauty and the dresses, hardly anyone would be able to rival me, not even Dinah. However, This party wasn't one of those parties. It was a suicidal attempt to go but I had no choice, I had to choose between my family and my happiness.
Whatever, I just needed to stay away from the view of the twins and I would probably be safe for the night. Well... That would be if Dinah did not pull one of her tricks again.
I picked a short silver gown, a black heels and dropped them on the bed. It was just an hour before the wedding and I knew Dinah would be done by now.
Not wasting time, I quickly removed my clothes and changed into a dress. I styled my hair to the back, bringing it completely away from my face to showcase my full beauty. If I was going to hit their defense, I should just hit it hard and break it completely!
I would go to the party, looking the prettiest, defeating all the kids there and stand as the Queen of the night!
I adorned my hair and my face beautifully. After that, I walked out of the room and made my way to Dinah's room because I knew she would be waiting for me already.
Getting to the room, I knocked on the door but there was no response. I continued knocking but it was the same and I decided to open the door. I walked inside the room and to my surprise, Dinah wasn't there.
I left the room in search of my mother. She had probably taken Dinah to help her look her best for the night.
"She left already," My mother responded. "The twins came to pick her up earlier. They intended to take her to the party themselves," She continued.
It was their 18th birthday today, they would officially start preparing to take over their father's position as Alpha.
"I should just return to my room then," knowing that she had left, I thought it was a great enough reason to forfeit the party even though I had dressed so much.
My mother looked at me and frowned "She said she would be waiting for you there. The twins won't be able to take care of her for the whole night, you know?"
"I understand,"
I replied and made my way out of the house. I boarded a cab which took me to the hall where the birthday party was being held.
"Wow! Who is that?"
"Isn't that Cathy?"
"How come she looks so pretty? She is probably the prettiest girl here today!"
"Probably? She certainly is!"
Damn! I had f****d myself up!
I shouldn't have dressed in a way that would attract attention if I was going to avoid the twins!
This way, it was only a matter of time before the twins found out about my presence and they would surely come around to punish me for it. Maybe they would kill me as they said?
I quickly used my purse to cover my face and tried to avoid the gaze of others but nothing helped.
My beauty stood out and the horny youths found it hard to keep their mouth shut!
"Hey!"
I suddenly heard a scary voice and my body froze.
I immediately turned around to face the table that was behind me. "Serve me any drinks, please," I told the bartender who was serving people behind the table.
The man seemed stunned by me for a few seconds, but he soon recovered and smiled, "I will serve you the best wine we have tonight," He said brightly.
"Have you gone deaf?!"
The voice came again and this time, it sounded very close. I felt a hand grab my shoulder and I was forced to turn.
Grover and Archer opened their mouths as if they were about to berate me like they usually did but the words got stuck in their throats as they looked at me, stunned and breathless.
At that moment, I suddenly felt a strong pull toward them and my wolf went frantic with excitement. "Mate!" She screamed.
Looking at the Alphas, it seemed they felt it too and their eyes widened.
"Mate?"
Alpha Grover seemed extremely confused as he took a step back.
Dinah hearing that, her eyes whitened and she shook her head "Mate? Don't tell me it's what I'm thinking?"
"It is. She is our mate," Archer replied dejectedly.
It was like being paired with me was a stroke of bad luck to them and they hated it. Well... I hated it more!
Dinah's face turned red as she glared at us as if we were criminals "That's not possible. You can't have her as your mate, that mustn't happen," Tears rolled down her eyes as she continued muttering in disbelief.
Seeing the situation, the twins panicked and quickly held her hands "We will reject her,"
Their words pierced into the deepest part of my mind and I shook my head in disbelief.
I wasn't ready to go through the pain of rejection and yet, right in front of me they moved in attempt to reject me.
