Eps7- Is it love?

“Hey baby girl. Are you okay?” I heard my dad’s voice greet me as soon as I open my eyes. I try to answer but my voice doesnt come out so I nod. I saw my dad, aunty Leona, Izzat and Lucy in the room with me.

“Here drink some water. You’ve been unconscious for a day honey.” Aunty Leona feed me some water. She sat me up and I drink thristy.

“Where’s Lucas?” I asked.

“He’s outside. He will come here soon. Lucy call your brother.” Reply aunty Leona. Lucy nod and she get out from the room.

“What happen?” I ask as soon as I gain some strength.

“You fainted. So we rush you to the hospital Inara.” Aunty Leona reply. I sense my dad face reaction was change.

“Oh. What did the doctor say?” I ask again.

“Honey? When was your last period?” She ask me back.

“I was on my PMS last four days ago. Why?”

“Are the doctors sure?” She ask to my dad and he nod.

“Whats going on?” I ask. Terrified with all possibilities. There is no way I was pregnant. I was having my period last four days. Even the flow was a short term in like a day only but I’m sure it was my period.

“Honey? You were rush to the hospital because you bleeding.” She say softly looking right in my eyes. I still didnt get where is this conversation leads to. Then someone rush entering my room.

“Hey Dream.” Said Lucas gasping for breath.

“Can you tell me what happen? Why my father and Izzat stood silent? Why your mom asking me about my period? And why Lucy avoiding me?” I ask with firm. Wanting answer from Lucas since he is the only one being natural with me all along.

“Okay Dream. Take a deep breath. We are here with you.” He said while smiling to comfort me. My dad got up from his seat besides me. He turn his face against me and I can see he was crying. I was nervous.

“Izzat. Take you father outside and calm him.” Lucas said to Izzat and he nod. He took my dad to outside my room. Lucy sat by my side and she was hugging me. So did aunty Leona.

“Dream. Wait no. Inara. Listen to me carefully. I need you to calm down. If you keep stressing yourself it might affecting your .....” he stop.

“.......ah how do I want to say this? It is hard.” He said. Breathing heavily.

“No matter what happen we always love you. We will always treat you as our family Dream.” Aunty Leona said in tears. Okay. This s**t is taking forever. I start to pissed off. But since I was getting hug by two people it was making me hard to move even a little. I take my deep breath and say

“Okay Lucas. Now talk to me. I wanna know what happen. Why did aunty said I was rush here because I was bleeding? This s**t isnt funny. I was having my period last four days. You can ask Lucy if you didnt believe it.” I say with anger but trying hard to remain calm.

“You were pregnant three weeks Inara.” He said while his head is down. I was shocked.

“No. It cant be. I was having my period! Dont you understand?!” I yelled. Aunty Leona hug me more tightly. Lucy started to cry out loud. And I was speechless. Izzat come in rush. He looking worried. Perhaps he heard me yelling and Lucy’s cries.

“Izzat? Lucas is lying right? He is bluffing right brother?” I saw convincing him.

“Hey lil sis. No matter what happen we will never disown you. We will be with you. It’s not your fault. You are being confirmed by the doctor that you are having a baby in your tummy. I’m afraid the period last four day you said is actually a minor bleeding but you thought it was period blood.” Izzat said while holding my hand. I was devastated. I was pregnant? Like really really pregnant. When I was little girl I always dream to be mommy. I am now mommy to be but this is not what I expected. I imagine I’m carrying baby with my beloved husband not a single unmarried mom. As I started thinking my future I’m gasping for breath hardly. What am I supposed to do now?

“Hey Dream. Look at me. You are gonna be just fine. Take a deep breath.” I heard Lucas voice when I started to panic.

The whole room filled with Dream’s cries. It was a gloom situation. From the morning she’s awake until now she hasnt stop crying. Lucas felt hurt. He felt his heart was torn apart with Dream’s tears. He just wish he can take all Dream’s pain. He really do. He pull his hair backwards. His heart feel light dizzy seeing Dream in a sad state. Mr Ilyas doesn’t step in her room yet. He seems disappointed on what happen towards Dream. Everybody does. Such a pretty girl being test this heavy.

“You both should go home. Lucy? Take amma to dinner first before she asleep.” Lucas said to his sister. Lucy nod.

“You should take your father get some rest. I’m sure he still in shocked. I will take care of Drea...... Inara tonight. You can take care of her tomorrow night.” Lucas said to Izzat who just tuck Dream in. He sigh.

“I dont know how do I can repay you.” Izzat said while his eyes laid on his sister who just fall asleep. Inara eyes were abit swollen due to cried. Her face is redden which made her looks like her late mother. How I wish you were here mother. Said Izzat in his heart. He pet her sister hair.

“Be strong and keep patient lil sis.” Izzat whisper to her. He then kiss his sister forehead.

“Thank you so much Lucas.” Izzat said while shake his hand with Lucas. Lucas pet his back.

“Dont worry. I will take care of your sister. Calm your father. He is blaming himself on what happen to your sister. It is never his fault. He did not fail to be a good father to both of you. I know.” Lucas said while smile. Izzat eyes starts to shatter. He knew his father keep blaming himself. Even he too blame himself alone. But what Lucas said it did slow the guilty. He then left the room. Now only Lucas and Dream in the room. Lucas called the nurse and ask for extra blanket since the air conditioner in Dream’s room is cold enough to make him shiver in sleep tonight. He took out his phone and call Patricia. He couldn’t make it to any meeting he had for today as he postponed it immediately after last night incident.

“Thanks Patricia.” He said after Patricia has cleared all his schedule for next 3 days.

“It’s my job Mr Lim. Can I ask you? As a friend?” She reply. Patricia was his friend from their elementary school so Patricia known him to well.

“Yes go ahead Pat.”

“How is she doing?” She ask. Lucas sigh.

“She’s three weeks pregnant. She just can’t accept it. I mean who would? She just remember her family. Then the next thing she remember she was being r***d by her fiance. And now she is pregnant his kid.” Lucas said with anger.

“Poor girl.” She replied short. Lucas sigh again.

“So how was her family respond with the news?” She ask again.

“She and her family is in a bad bad shape. I don’t know what else I can say. I’m an outsider. I don’t know what she has been through before. But now I know I felt sorry for her. I don’t know how do I describe this feeling.” Lucas said.

“Do you feel like you wanna protect her?” She ask. Lucas stay silent for a moment asking himself.

“I do.” He said and he sigh again. He can hear Patricia laugh on the other side till she could hardly catch a breath.

“What’s so funny?” He asked her.

“Oh Lucas Lim. You’re falling in love with her!” She said after she manage to catch her breath. Lucas was stunned and keep quiet for a while.

“See? You can’t even deny it. Actually I’m happy for you. Finally God heard my plea. You fall in love with a woman Lucas!” She said excitedly.

“I do?” He ask her again. He was puzzled. Is this what a love feels like? He try to recall how he fall in love with Kevin before but this feeling he has right now wasnt the same he felt for Kevin. He was confused. How do I know that I loved her? He ask to himself.

“We should have catch up session later. It’s almost time to clock out. Have a good day Mr Lim.” She reply formally before she end call. Lucas look at the woman in front of him. A heart shape face with big round eyes. She has a perfect pointed nose with her thin lip. Added with her thin eyebrows. Her skin was reddish white. On top of that she has the curliest eyelashes. Her hair was natural light brown beach wave. Lucas stares at her until he fall asleep.

“Lucas?” I call her. His hand was on my waist so I couldn’t move. Gosh I need to pee so badly.

“Lucas?” I call him again and I shake his hand a bit. But he still didn’t move.

“Lucas?” I call him again until he awakes.

“Yes Drea.... Inara? Do you need anything? Are you thirsty?” He asked me softly while rubbing his eyes.

“I need to pee. Can you walk me to the toilet?” I ask him while pick up my hand which has IV drip. He laugh.

“Sure. Come.” He said while he undo my bed lock. I try to stand on my feet but it got cramp. I fall into Lucas arm as he manage to catch me. He then pick me up into his arm and he carry me like a bride. He push the IV stand with his body.

“I can walk.” I said. My head is down. I’m useless pregnant woman. I swear myself.

“Yes you can but right now you couldn’t.” He said with smile. After saw him struggling with the IV stand I push the IV stand with my hand. He put me down on the toilet seat and he turn his body backing me.

“You can undo your pants right?” He ask. I laugh.

“You can wait outside.” I said.

“Sure?”

“Yes!”

“Okay then. Call my name if you done. Or if you need anything.” He said while walk away. After I settle down I try to get up by myself. I took a step by step. But on my fourth step my body starts to be unbalanced. I fall to the cold floor bathroom. Lucas rush come in and he saw me fell on the floor.

“God are you okay? I told you to call my name once you’re done. Why are you not listening to me?” He rush and carry me back in his arm. I try to push him away but he is much stronger than I am.

“I’m sorry for being nothing but a trouble for you.” I said once he place me on the bed.

“I told you millions of times. You never be a trouble for me. Please stop saying that. I would be happy to serve and help you.” He said while he hold touch my cheek. His touch made my face to burn. I avoid my eyes from looking straight to him.

“Did you hurt yourself?” He ask. I shake my head no.

“Does it hurt somewhere?” He ask again. My eyes start to shatter.

“My heart.” I say slow. He pull me into his hug and he pet my hair. I couldn’t stop crying. I cry out loud. I don’t care if my eyes turn red and get swollen bigger. I don’t care any of it.

“Hey everyone here loves you. We will be by your side. I’m here with you.” He said again. I feel a bit calm. I look him in the eyes. He kiss my forehead. My butterflies are happy. I smile.

“You stink.” I said after he let go of me from his hug.

“Yeah I didn’t shower from yesterday morning.” He said he slick his hair backwards. I laugh.

“You should take a shower. You smell so SO bad.” I said and he laugh.

“Okay okay. I’ll go take a sweater from my car. You wait and don’t move anywhere.” He said with firm. I laugh and nod.

“Here. Eat something while waiting for me.” He push a food tray to me. I look at him.

“Have you eaten yet?” I ask. He just smil awkwardly.

“I’ll wait for you. We eat together once you shower. Now go. I’m hungry.”
