Without thinking, Miley’s hands moved down Stephanie’s back, under her shirt, reveling in the warmth of her skin. She felt the muscles shift and flex as Stephanie moved, her body a perfect, responsive instrument. Their bodies were pressed together, their breasts crushed against each other, and Miley could feel the rapid beat of Stephanie’s heart, a frantic echo of her own.
Stephanie’s hand slid under the hem of Miley’s t-shirt. Her fingers, cool against Miley’s heated skin, traced a path up her stomach, grazing the underside of her breast. Miley shuddered, a small cry escaping her lips.
“Tell me to stop,” Stephanie whispered, her voice full of lust and a desperate plea. “Tell me you don’t want this, and I will.”
Miley looked into her eyes. She saw vulnerability, hope, and a raw, burning love that made her heart ache. She should have told her to stop. She knew she should. This was her best friend. This was a line they shouldn’t cross.
But instead, she captured Stephanie’s lips in another searing kiss, her answer clear. She couldn’t stop. She didn’t want to stop.
Stephanie’s hand cupped Miley’s breast, her thumb brushing over the sensitive peak through the thin fabric of her bra. Miley whimpered into her mouth, her hips bucking involuntarily. Stephanie broke the kiss, her lips trailing down Miley’s body. She pushed the t-shirt up, exposing Miley’s stomach, her skin gleaming in the soft light of the room. She pressed hot, open-mouthed kisses to Miley’s navel, her tongue tracing the line of her belly button.
Miley was lost. Every nerve ending in her body was on fire, screaming for more. She lay back on the bed, her hands gripping the sheets as Stephanie continued her assault on her senses. Stephanie kissed her way up Miley’s body, lavishing attention on each of her breasts through the lace of her bra. She circled the n****e with her tongue, her teeth grazing the fabric, before pulling it down with her teeth to finally taste the skin beneath.
Her mouth closed around Miley’s n****e, and Miley cried out, her back arching off the bed. The sensation was electric, a bolt of pure pleasure that shot straight to her core. Stephanie sucked and licked and nibbled, her hands caressing Miley’s other breast, pinching and rolling the aching bud between her fingers.
“Oh, God, please,” Miley begged, not even sure what she was asking for.
Stephanie’s lips moved to her other breast, giving it the same rapturous attention, while her hand slid down Miley’s stomach, her fingers dancing over the waistband of her underwear. She traced the outline of Miley’s heat, her touch feather-light, sending shivers of anticipation through Miley’s body.
Then, her fingers slipped inside. Miley gasped, her eyes squeezing shut. The feel of Stephanie’s fingers inside her was exquisite, a perfect fit. Stephanie moved slowly, deliberately, her thumb circling Miley’s c**t with a practiced rhythm that drove her wild. She was drowning in a sea of sensation, waves of pleasure washing over her.
She felt the pressure building, a delicious tension coiling in her belly. Her breath came in ragged gasps, her hands tangled in Stephanie’s hair, pulling her face back up to hers for another bruising kiss.
“I’m close, I’m so close,” Miley whimpered against her lips.
“Let go,” Stephanie commanded, her voice a low growl. “Let go for me.”
And Miley did. She shattered into a thousand pieces, her body convulsing as wave after wave of pleasure crashed over her. She cried out Stephanie’s name, her fingers digging into her back. It was a release unlike anything she had ever felt, raw and primal and overwhelmingly perfect.
She lay there, panting, her body trembling in the aftermath, Stephanie’s head resting on her chest. The world was a blur of aftershocks and warmth. Stephanie gently withdrew her hand and kissed Miley’s cheek, her nose, her lips, a gentle, loving shower of affection.
But as the pleasure receded, a cold dread began to creep into Miley’s heart. She looked at Stephanie, who was gazing at her with such love and adoration, and a knot of fear tightened in her stomach.
What had she just done? This was her best friend. A woman. This wasn't who she was. She was Miley Cyrus, Hollywood star, Liam Hemsworth's ex-girlfriend. She was straight. She had to be.
“I can’t do this,” Miley whispered, pulling away, her voice trembling. She scrambled off the bed, clutching the sheets to her chest. “This is… this is wrong.”
Stephanie’s face fell. The light in her eyes dimmed, replaced by a look of hurt and confusion. “What? Miley, what are you talking about? You liked it. I could feel how much you liked it.”
“That doesn’t matter!” Miley cried, her voice rising to a hysterical pitch. “It’s just… you’re a girl, Steph! My best friend! I’m not… I’m not a lesbian. I’m straight. I was in love with Liam.”
“Liam broke your heart,” Stephanie said softly, her voice laced with hurt. “He was an asshole. He didn’t love you the way you deserved. I do, Miley. I love you.”
Miley’s eyes filled with tears. The words hung in the air, heavy and terrifying. This wasn’t supposed to happen. She was supposed to get over Liam and find a new, handsome man to sweep her off her feet. She wasn’t supposed to fall for her female best friend.
“Love?” Miley scoffed, the word tasting bitter on her tongue. “This isn’t love. This is… this is just some twisted form of comfort. I was vulnerable, and you took advantage.”
She saw the words hit Stephanie like a physical blow. A single tear escaped down her cheek, but she didn’t argue. She just nodded slowly, a weary resignation settling in her eyes.
“If that’s how you feel,” Stephanie said, her voice barely a whisper. “I should go.”
She stood up, collected her things, and walked to the door. She paused, her hand on the handle, and looked back at Miley, who was standing frozen in the middle of the room, a vision of guilt and confusion.
“For what it’s worth,” Stephanie said, her voice breaking slightly. “What I said was true. I do love you, Miley. Not because you were vulnerable. But because you’re you. I just hope one day you can see that.”
And then she was gone, leaving Miley alone with the heavy silence, the lingering scent of their passion, and the terrifying realization that the world she had built for herself was beginning to crumble.
