The Gates of HaleJonah dropped Reena off at the Marriott, where Kendall greeted her with an exuberance that he knew she wouldn't feel at the conference. Reena was thrilled to be with Kendall, but she was still leery of leaving Jonah on his own, especially if Wyndam O'Shea was around. But Jonah laughed her off.
“It's daytime,” he said. “And I even bothered to check the moon phases when I printed off the directions to Jessica's place. It's a half moon tonight. He's at his craziest at the full moon.”
Reena relented only after Jonah promised to alert her if anything untoward happened. But he wasn't going to do that. Reena deserved her fun. The whole of this was on him.
