The first time I kissed Joey was the first time I kissed anyone. I was fourteen, and Brandon Jameson asked me to go to homecoming with him. I liked Brandon well enough, but he had a reputation for being a bit of a player—as much as a boy can be at that age—and I had a feeling he was going to kiss me at the dance. I didn’t mind that thought, except that I had never been kissed by anyone, and I didn’t want Brandon Jameson to be my first.
