The next day Riley comes to the barn, Val, Christina, and Oliver are there, and from the moment she arrives, I can tell she plans on doing something about Christina and Oliver.
“Hey, Riley,” Oliver greets sort of nervously when she strides confidently into the barn. “How are you?”
“Oh, same old,” she says, even though it’s sort of a ridiculous answer, all things considered; clearly she isn’t the same as she once was. “The better question is, how’s Zoe?”
He doesn’t look surprised, but he doesn't look pleased, either. “Why do you ask, Riley?”
“Just curious. I mean, you’d know better than anyone right? Zoe always tells you everything. And I know you tell her everything.”
